Buffalo 10 Worcester 8
Portland 5 New Hampshire 4 - 10 innings
Vancouver 7 Spokane 5
Dunedin 1 Tampa 3 - suspended after three inning
This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
Buffalo had 13 hits. Gabriel Moreno hit a two run home run in the first inning and added two more hits for a 3-5 night with three RBI. Otto Lopez, Spencer Horwitz, Vinny Capra and Cullen Large chipped in with two hits each.
Thomas Hatch started and went five innings. He was charged with three runs and had seven K's. Trent Thornton and Zac Pop combined to allowed four runs and make it a close game late but Foster Griffin had a 1-2-3 ninth for the save.
The New Hampshire game went to extras where Jol Concepcion conceded two runs. The Fisher Cats were able to get one run in and the tying run to third with one out but couldn't get the runner in. Sebastian Espino homered. Phil Clarke had two hits and Luis De Los Santos drove in three.
Paxton Schultz started and was a little wild, walking six in five innings. He was charged with three runs.
Like Schultz, Trenton Wallace had a little trouble with throwing strikes. He walked three in the first two innings but settled down after that to go five innings. He allowed one run and struck out five.
Rainer Nunez hit a two run home run in the first inning to get the C's off to a good start. Dasan Brown drove in a run in the second with a single, one of his three hits in the game. Michael Turconi, Damiano Palmegiani and PK Morris had two hits each.
The D Jays played just one inning on Thursday and returned Friday to add two more innings. Two days, three innings played. On Friday the hitters got to face Luis Severino for two innings.
