Columbus 0 Buffalo 6
New Hampshire 5 Somerset 1
Hillsboro 3 Vancouver 5
Dunedin 7 Bradenton 5
This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
Buffalo used two three run innings, the 3rd and 4th. In the third a hit batter and a two run single by Rafael Lantigua scored three. In the fourth consecutive doubles by Trevor Schwecke and Otto Lopez drove in three runs. Lopez extended his hit streak with his double.
Julian Merryweather and Tayler Saucedo were among the seven pitchers used. Saucedo struck out all three hitters he faced.
It was Ricky Tiedemann day in AA. He went three innings, no hits, two walks and two K's. Paxton Schultz went the last five innings and struck out seven.
Addison Barger drove in the first two runs with a double. Zach Britton singled in the next two. A sac fly from Davis Schneider scored the fifth run.
Vancouver built a 3-0 lead in the third inning and with Trenton Wallace mowing them down it looked like a win for the C's. Wallace was dominating the Hops, he struck out eleven in 5.2 innings. He didn't walk anyone and only allowed two hits. But with two out in the sixth he hit a batter. The hook came out and Sam Ryan promptly gave up a two run home run followed by the tying run. In the bottom of the sixth Jommer Hernandez and Glenn Santiago drove in runs.
Miguel Hiraldo had two hits including his eighth home run. Glenn Santiago also had two hits and drove in two runs. Gabriel Martinez was 1-3 with a walk and is hitting .340 with a .944 OPS. That's very good for a player who turned 20 a month ago.
Peyton Williams is a big dude, 6'5" and 255 pounds. He hit his first pro home run in the second inning and then hit his second in the fourth inning. Both homers were two run shots. Cade Doughty had got Dunedin on the board with the bases clearing, three RBI double in the second inning.
Dunedin used five pitchers. Lazaro Estrada started and went three innings.
