Barger in A+/AA this year is rocking a wRC+ of 152/171. Walk rate around 9% and K rate around 25%. That’s good.

<br>Any insight into whether those 3 Orelvis walks were intentional, pitcher wildness,or possible developing plate discipline? Would be a great development.

Any knowledge of 3 BB games before?

Well he did hit two home runs on Tuesday so the pitchers might be a little wary.

In addition to my other positive comments about Barger in the other thread, I noted that he has grounded into only one double play this year in 62 opportunities.

BA midseason organization talent rankings:

1. Baltimore
11. Boston
12. Tampa Bay
15. Toronto
17. NYY

Pretty good that they see Toronto as the #15 organization (Toronto was #19 preseason).

"The Skinny: With the Blue Jays in a competitive window the organization has traded from the farm system heavily in recent seasons. Still, the Blue Jays have typically held onto the right players while adding high-upside talents via the draft and international free agency. Both of these pipelines are represented in the top third of the Top 100 in Venezuelan catcher Gabriel Moreno and 2021 draftee Ricky Tiedemann. A strong 2022 draft class saw the Blue Jays add four players to their top 10 with first-rounder Brandon Barriera as well as Josh Kasevich, Tucker Toman and Cade Doughty."

Boy, Tampa can't afford to be #12 - to survive with their non-payroll in the AL East they need to be a top 5 in minor league talent at all times. Jays, Yankees, Red Sox can all spend until the cows come home, but Tampa can't. Baltimore still being #1 is scary for the future. The AL East could (once schedules are less weighted to division) be a lock for all wild card playoff slots going forward. A full division of 85+ wins is possible in 2023. Heck, still possible this year with Boston the only one not on that pace with a 60-62 record (next worst is Baltimore on pace for an 84 win season right now).
