Nathan Lukes drove in four runs and Nick Podkul had four hits in Buffalo's win, the only win for the affiliates. New Hampshire lost a close, low scoring game. Trenton Wallace walked too many in Vancouver's loss. Dunedin and the FCL Jays also lost.

Buffalo 8 Syracuse 1

Erie 2 New Hampshire 1

Vancouver 0 Eugene 3

Tampa 5 Dunedin 3

FCL Yankees 7 FCL Blue Jays 2

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

Nick Podkul had four hits and scored a run. Nathan Lukes hit a three run home run and added an RBI on a hit by pitch. Zach Collins drove in three with a single and a sac fly. Otto Lopez had a couple of hits and Spencer Horwitz returned to the lineup but went 0-3 with two walks. He did score two runs.

Casey Lawrence started and was back to his good self, five and a third shutout innings. Hayden Juenger pitched the last two innings, no runners and four K's. Juenger seems to have either a great appearance or one where he gives up multiple hits or walks.

There wasn't much offense in the New Hampshire game. Davis Schneider and John Aiello had two hits each in the top two spots of the order. Orelvis, in the third spot, was 0-4 and left five on base. The rest of the lineup had two hits combined.

Luis Quinones got back on track after a start where he didn't get out of the first inning. In this game he went five innings. As usual he walked more than he should have, three, and struck out five. He was charged with both Erie runs.

For Vancouver Trenton Wallace was walking too many. He walked five in 4.1 innings. None hurt him until the fifth. He walked three. One of them scored on a throwing error by Wallace himself. He was pulled and Eric Pardinho gave up a triple that scored Wallace's other two runners. He only allowed one hit, but three runs. Pardinho walked a couple and gave up three hits while getting five outs.

Those three runs were all Eugene needed as the C's had just five hits. Gabriel Martinez had two.

Dahian Santos started and went five innings. He struck out eight but conceded three runs including a home run. Adrian Hernandez rehabbed for two innings, Jackson Rees and Brady Lail for one each.

Devonte Brown hit his first home run, a solo shot, Cade Doughty also hit his first, a two run shot.

Gunnar Henderson is now BA's #1 prospect in baseball. Moreno slips to #3. Tiedemann is #31.

Moreno is back in the Buffalo lineup today.

I haven't seen Henderson, but based on performance, that makes sense.

It looks like the Os are going to be very good for a while. And the Rays mmay take a few years to regroup. As they did from 2014-17.

Four Dunedin pitchers combined on a no-hitter today and Estiven Machado hit a 3rd inning grand slam.

Machado has been really good since July 1. Something promising to keep an eye in.

Machado is interesting as a 19 year old shortstop in full-season ball.  He's a switch-hitter, and has had very large splits.  Hasn't been hitting from the right side.
