Buffalo 5 Syracuse 6
Erie 5 New Hampshire 1
Vancouver 2 Eugene 4
Tampa 6 Dunedin 8
FCL Blue Jays 1 FCL Tigers 2
This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
There were five lead changes in the buffalo game but ultimately Syracuse won with Graham Spraker taking the loss.
Rafael Lantigua hit his first AAA home run in the fifth. Vinny Capra added a three run shut in the seventh. Otto Lopez and Zach Collins picked up two hits each. Still no sign of Gabriel Moreno or Spencer Horwitz.
Andrew Moore started for New Hampshire, went five innings and gave up three runs. The New Hampshire hitters had seven hits, all singles, so it was difficult to get back in the game.
John Aiello and Luis De Los Santos had two hits each. Addison Barger and Orelvis had one, Barger's average is under .400 at .384.
Chad Dallas had a walk on the wild side. He walked five in three innings plus innings. He also allowed three hits but only conceded one run, a solo home run. Mason Fluharty, the Jays fifth round pick this year, pitched the seventh. A walk, a steal and a single led to him conceding one run.
The C's were held to just five hits. Newly acquired Alex De Jesus had a double that contributed to one run.
Dunedin's new hitters are on a roll. Dylan Rock hit his first pro home run in the first inning. Alan Roden and Ryan McCarty had two hits each, both are hitting over .300 early in their careers. Old hand Roque Salinas hit his second home run, a two run shot, in the second inning.
Yondrei Rojas was the starter, Tampa got to him for four runs in five innings. Rojas got nine swings and misses on his fastball, which he threw 60% of the time. It averaged 92.8 mph. He just had four whiffs on his other pitches. At 19 years old he has time to work on them.
In the FCL Tucker Toman was 2-2 with two walks. He is hitting .556 in a small sample.
