Buffalo got the only win Wednesday.

Buffalo 10 Syracuse 3

Buffalo bookended the game with four runs in the first and four in the ninth and chipped in a couple of the third to steamroll the Mets. RBI singles by Rafael Lantigua and Nick Podkul got the Herd going in the first with Lantigua also stealing home as part of a double steal with Logan Warmoth taking second. Warmoth whacked a two-run homer in the third. Nathan Lakes opened the ninth inning scoring with an RBI single, Lantigua singled home another and Podkul had a two-run knock to round out the scoring. Warmoth and Chavez Young had three hits apiece while Lantigua and Podkul had two each. All nine Bisons hitters reached base safely with eight of them getting a hit.

Thomas Hatch tossed 5-1/3 shutout innings by scattering one hit and two walks while ringing up four batters. He induced six ground ball outs and threw 40 of his 61 pitches for strikes. Eric Yardley finished the sixth for Hatch. Hayden Juenger surrendered a run in two innings but struck out three. Colt Griffin gave up two runs in the ninth.


Erie 5 New Hampshire 3

The Tigers affiliate scored three times in the ninth to down the Fisher Cats. Sebastian Espino's sacrifice fly got New Hampshire on the board in the fifth and Zac Cook singled home a run as part of a two-run seventh. Addison Barger had a double and a single while Cook and John Aiellio had a hit and a walk. Ryan Gold also reached twice with a double and a hit by pitch. Orelvis Martinez was 0-for-4 with three K's.

Adam Kloffenstein had a quality start with two runs allowed over six innings. Both runs were solo homers as he gave up six hits and two walks but struck out five. Seven of his 11 outs in play were on the ground. Andrew Bash allowed three runs in 2-2/3 innings to take the loss. Jimmy Burnette was called in to strike out a batter and strand a Bash runner.


Eugene 10 Vancouver 3

Vancouver had the first three runs of the game but the Giants affiliate had the last 10. An RBI single by Damiano Palmegiani, an RBI groundout by Riley Tirotta and an RBI double by Gabby Martinez accounted for all of the C's offence. Dasan Brown and Jommer Hernandez both doubled. Leo Jiménez was hit by a pitch.

Michael Dominguez took the loss by allowing four runs (three earned) in 4-1/3 innings on three hits and three walks. His strikeout and groundout total were five apiece. Naswell Paulino allowed a Dominguez runner to score and gave up two of his own over 1-2/3 innings. Justin Kelly was roughed up for four runs over the last two frames.


Tampa 7 Dunedin 5

The Yankees affiliate raced out to a 7-1 lead and were able to prevail for the victory. Devonte Brown lifted a sac fly in the second inning for the first run. Victor Mesia had a bases loaded walk in the sixth before Peyton Williams and Dylan Rock had RBI groundouts in the seventh. Michael Turconi homered in the eighth. Turconi and Alan Roden had two hits apiece. Mesia, Josh Kasevich, Cade Doughty and Ryan McCarty all had hits with Doughty drawing a walk and taking one for the team. Rock also had an HBP. Dunedin was 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.

Geison Urbaez gave up all seven runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings. He had three strikeouts and five groundouts. Jackson Rees, Ian Churchill, Sam Ryan and Harry Rutkowski all tossed a shutout frame.

Like Gerry mentioned the 2022 draft position players have taken over the Dunedin lineup for now anyway. This means that players like JC Masson go back to the FCL.
