Buffalo and Vancouver were your Wednesday winners. New Hampshire was shutout again and Dunedin dropped a doubleheader.

Buffalo 8 Iowa 4

A five-run fourth inning helped the Herd knock off the I-Cubs. L.J. Talley singled home the first run. Cullen Large walked with the bases full before Logan Warmoth tripled home three runs as he pinch-hit for Samad Taylor who struck out in his two at-bats. Large hit a two-run homer as part of a three-run eighth. Chavez Young singled and walked twice and stole two bases. Warmoth drew a walk and pilfered a bag. Spencer Horwitz and Stevie Berman had a hit and a walk apiece. Otto Lopez had two free passes. Talley took one for the team to get on board twice.

Derek Holland was dinged for a two-run homer over two innings among four hits and a walk. He struck out a pair before turning the ball over to Brandon Eisert. He struck out three over two frames to get the win. Joe Biagini and Matt Gage gave up a run in their inning of work but Eric Yardley and Trent Thornton finished up with a goose egg apiece with Yardley striking out one and Thornton whiffing two.

Reading 7 New Hampshire 0

The Fightin' Phils delivered the knockout blow against Hayden Juenger with a three-run home run in the second inning. Juenger lasted three innings and gave up three hits while striking out one. Braden Scott also was victimized by the long ball with a solo shot but struck out three in two innings. Gabriel Ponce had 1-2/3 scoreless frames after Sean Rackoski stranded two runners but Rackoski was rocked for a three-run home run in the eighth.

Addison Barger went 2-for-4 for his second straight multi-hit game in Double-A. Rafael Lantigua singled and stole a base while John Aiello had a base hit and a base on balls.Trevor Schwecke had the other base rap. Orelvis Martinez donned the golden sombrero.


Vancouver 4 Hillsboro 2

The Canadians did all their business offensively in the third inning. Francisco Fajardo singled on the first pitch he saw in his C's debut and stole home as part of a double steal with Steward Berroa after he got aboard on a base hit. Surrey, BC native Damiano Palmegiani followed with a two-run home run and Garrett Spain tripled home a Riley Tirotta walk. Berroa had three hits and four stolen bases. Palmegiani had a single to go with his homer. Tirrota walked twice. Leo Jiménez and Zach Britton both heard ball four with Jiménez stealing a base. The C's won this one despite going 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

Sem Robberse got the win by holding the Hops to two runs on four hits, three walks and a hit by pitch. His strikeout and groundout totals were six apiece. Naswell Paulino, Mark Simon and Justin Kelly all put up a zero with the former two getting a hold and the latter picking up the save.


St. Lucie 5 Dunedin 2 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

Matt Svanson gave up four runs in four innings thanks to four walks and five hits against the Mets. One of the runs was unearned and he struck out three. Eric Pardinho yielded a solo home run but struck out three over two innings.

Dasan Brown prevented the shutout with a two-run home run in the sixth, his fourth of the year. Estiven Machado, Gabriel Martinez, Roque Salinas. Angel Del Rosario and Juan Gonzalez had base hits. Rikelbin De Castro walked and scored.


St. Lucie 6 Dunedin 3 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Cooper Benson gave up a home run among two runs on four hits and a walk but he did strike out seven. Julain Valdez took the loss. He also gave up a homer, a thrree-run shot among four runs (three earned) in two innings. Ben Baggett put up a bagel in the sixth.

Dunedin scored a run in the first two innings with a Rainer Nuñez double play ball and a Rikelbin De Castro bases loaded walk. A wild pitch in the seventh was responsible for the third run. Gabriel Martinez was 3-for-4. Nuñez, Jommer Hernandez, Amell Brazoban and Emmanuel Sanchez all put a notch in the hit column with Hernandez and Brazobaon walking twice. Dasan Brown drew a walk.

I would like to thank #2JB (Naill) for his C's Plus site. The video high lights are very entertaining/exciting. Who hits left/right, the players are really hustling on the basepaths and of course informing about the velo of the pitchers (high 90s from some relievers).
