This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
Thomas Hatch started for the Bisons. He had one bad inning, three singles followed by a Johan Camargo double and that was three runs. But he also allowed plenty of other hits. In total he went six innings with nine hits allowed. Jorge Bonifacio doubled home two runs in the eighth to give LHV the lead. The hit was off Kyle Johnston but the runs were charged to Brandon Eisert.
Chavez Young hit his first home run, a two run shot. Nate Lukes went 3-4 and drove in two.
Jimmy Burnette had started his AA career on a strong note. He came on in the ninth inning of a tied game and walked the lead off hitter, then hit the next guy. That was the opportunity for top Yankee prospect Anthony Volpe to take Burnette deep for a three run home run. Adam Kloffenstein started and had a good start. He had one blemish, a two run home run. In all he went 5.2 innings with those two runs on six hits. He struck out six.
Just four hits for the Fisher Cats. Spencer Horwitz homered, his seventh. Orelvis was 1-3 with a walk and two strikeouts.
Ricky Tiedemann managed to shut down a strong Eugene lineup in game one. The pitching line was a usual one for him, three hits, two walks, seven K's in 4 innings. The less usual part was that he needed 80 pitches to get through four innings, 45 strikes and 34 balls. He was a bit wild. The C's runs came from two solo home runs by Addison Barger, his 12th, and Trevor Schwecke, his 4th.
In game two Naswell Paulino fell victim to the Eugene lineup, four runs on seven hits in six innings. Addison Barger had two of the C's four hits.
Eight runs on 14 hits for Dunedin. Roque Salinas and Angel Del Rosario each had a four hit night. Rainer Nunez had three hits and scored three runs. The number three through six hitters went 13-20.
Dahian Santos started and went four innings, three hits, two walks, two runs and three K's.
The FCL Jays lost badly but Cristian Feliz homered for the second day in a row, it was his third. Marcus De La Rosa hit his first. Yhoangel Aponte had two hits.
