The affiliates had a perfect Tuesday with New Hampshire walking one off in extra innings, Vancouver coming out on the right end of a one-run game and Dunedin building a big lead before holding on. Buffalo had the night off.

New Hampshire 6 Portland 5 (10 Innings)

Will Robertson whacked his sixth home run of the year for the Fisher Cats in the third and that held up until the top of the eighth inning when the Red Sox affiliate scored four runs. New Hampshire would tie with three runs in the bottom of the eighth thanks in large part to a two-run double by Orelvis Martinez. Portland went ahead again in the top of the 10th but New Hampshire FC rallied again on an RBI groundout by Ryan Gold and a walk-off single by Rafael Lantigua, his second hit of the night. Sebastian Espino also had two hits. Tanner Morris singled and walked while Spencer Horwitz was hit by a pitch.

Hayden Juenger put together for shutout innings of one-hit, offsetting three walks with three strikeouts. Nick Fraze was rocked for a grand slam among five hits, a walk and a plunk but struck out four over four frames. Sean Rackoski was charged with an unearned run on a hit and a walk over two frames but picked up the win.

Vancouver 4 Spokane 3

Run-scoring doubles by Leo Jiménez and Addison Barger in the first inning and a two-run home run by Steward Berroa in the third proved to be just enough against the Rockies affiliate. Barger and Berroa had two hits apiece. Berroa stole his ninth base of the year and showed off some dance moves by joining the grounds crew during their sixth inning dance routine. Andrés Sosa had a walk and extended the third inning with a two-out single before scoring on Berroa's blast. Miguel Hiraldo and Davis Schneider also singled with Hiraldo stealing his 14th base of the year and Schneider swiping two to give him a.season total of four. Jiménez had his bell rung when his head collided with the rear end of Spokane's Robby Martin when Jiménez tried to tag him on a stolen base attempt at second. He had to leave the game shortly afterwards.

Sem Robberse put up four shutout innings but gave up three runs in the fifth and could not get that elusive third out. He allowed just one hit with three walks and struck out seven. Abdiel Mendoza had a Robberse runner score but he put together 2-1/3 innings of two-hit ball to improve to 3-0. Jimmy Burnette hit the first batter he faced but struck out the last six men faced to earn his fourth save of the year.

Dunedin 5 Clearwater 3

The D-Jays raced out to a 5-0 lead and held on against the Phillies affiliate. Rainer Nuñez singled home the first run of the third inning and he came home on a Damiano Palmegiani two-run homer. The other two runs came in the eighth, one on an RBI single by Roque Salinas. Palmegiani, Adrian Pinto and Estiven Machado all had two hits with Pinto drawing a walk and taking one for the team. Pinto stole his 14th base of the year but was also caught for the sixth time. Gabriel Martinez was 0-for-2 before Hugo Cardona pinch-hit for him in the third.

Trenton Wallace put up the first four zeroes on the linescore for Dunedin, allowing just one hit and one walk while ringing up six. Matt Svanson gave up three runs over four frames on two hits, two walks and a plunk but rung up five. Geison Urbaez worked around a hit and a walk and punched out two in the ninth for the save.

Pinto had a bunt single and a line drive today. It would be very good if bunting for a base hit remained part of his repertoire.

Of the 259 A ball pitchers who have 20 IP this season, only 20 are under the age of 20.

4 of those sub-20 yr olds are Blue Jays. I knew Tiedemann was excellent, but didn't realize just how well the other 3 19 yr olds have pitched in Dunedin.

Ricky Tiedemann 1.80 ERA/2.02 FIP
Dahian Santos 1.52 ERA/2.68 FIP
Rafael Ohashi 2.88 ERA/3.22 FIP
Kendry Rojas 4.82 ERA/3.63 FIP

The FSL is a pitchers league, 3.61 FIP is the median for all FSL pitchers with 20 IP, compared to 4.11 in the Carolina League and 4.53 in the California League. But the young Jays kids have been impressive nonetheless.
