The Blue Jays affiliates batted 1.000 with a 6-0 Tuesday night on the farm.
Buffalo 5 Scranton/Wilkes Barre 1 (Game 1)
A two-run home run by Richard Ureña, his 9th of the year, and a solo blast by Nash Knight, his sixth, in the first two innings led the Bisons to victory over the Yankees affiliate. An RBI triple by Cullen Large and an RBI single by Christian Colón put the game away in the seventh. Large had two doubles among his three hits and Colón had two knocks. Logan Warmoth singled and stole his 16th base of the year.
Bowden Francis gave up a home run to former Jay Jonathan Davis over six innings, scattering three hits, a walk and a hit by pitch over six innings. His strikeout and groundout totals were six apiece. Bryan Baker posted a goose egg in the seventh.
Buffalo 3 Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 0 (Game 2)
The Herd jumped out to another 2-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Otto Lopez and a run-scoring double by Cullen Large before Reggie Pruitt belted a home run in the fifth to mark his Triple-A debut. Pruitt also drew a walk. Large had two more doubles to give him 18 on the season and Forrest Wall joined him in the two-hit club.
Kyle Johnston, A.J. Cole, Nate Pearson, Anthony Castro, Curtis Taylor, Julian Merryweather and Hobie Harris all pitched a shutout inning. Cole got the win and Harris collected his seventh save. Pearson struck out the side on 13 pitches.
New Hampshire 6 Portland 3 (Game 1)
This was the completion of a game on the Fourth of July. Chavez Young went 3-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs and Kevin Vicuna doubled twice to lead the FC to victory. Samad Taylor also had two hits.
Reilly Hovis gave up three runs over three innings but Jeremy Beasley earned the win with a shutout fourth. Brody Rodning slammed the door shutout over the next two innings before Adrian Hernandez closed it out in the seventh.
New Hampshire 6 Portland 5 (Game 2)
Vinny Capra's two-run double, Jordan Groshans' RBI single and Chavez Young's run-scoring knock helped the Fisher Cats score five in the first to complete the doubleheader sweep of the Red Sox affiliate. Tanner Kirwer's RBI single in the fourth proved to be the difference. Kirwer drew a walk to reach base twice and Samad Taylor had two free passes.
Maximo Castillo turned in a quality start of three runs over six innings with five hits, a walk and a plunk. One of the hits was a two-run homer. Castilo's K and GO totals were eight apiece. Sean Rackoski got two outs but gave up a two-run dinger in the seventh before Marcus Reyes got the final out to get the save.
Vancouver 9 Everett 8
The C's nearly let a 9-3 lead slip away but they were able to hold off the Mariners affiliate. Philip Clarke had a four-hit game that included a pair of RBI singles. Tanner Morris and Orelvis Martinez went deep to give them five and seven on the season respectively. Martinez also had an RBI double and a. walk but also committed two fielding errors to give him seven at the six spot. Will Robertson had a three-hit game and Trevor Schwecke knocked home the eventual winning run with a single in the seventh as part of a two-hit night.
Paxton Schultz gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits (including a homer) and four walks but struck out four over four frames. Hayden Juenger was the winning pitcher thanks to two shutout innings that included four whiffs. Jol Concepion gave up a run in the seventh and Will McAffer allowed the other four (three of them earned) in the ninth before getting the final six outs.
Dunedin 16 Palm Beach 6
The D-Jays came back from 5-0 down in the third to blitz the Cardinals. Leo Jimenez began the comeback with his first home run of the year to start a four-run fourth. Dunedin would put the game away with seven runs in the ninth. Addison Barger had a trio of two-run doubles and Zach Britton had two doubles and two walks. Steward Berroa singled, walked and stole his 48th base of the season. Only Dasan Brown did not get a hit but he was hit by a pitch and stole his 14th base.
Yaifer Perdomo yielded five runs over three innings. The damage was done on four hits, three walks and a plunk but he did record five strikeouts. Jefferson Herrera got the win with two innings of one-run ball and struck out three. Jimmy Burnette and Matt Svanson handled the final four innings with Svanson recording his fourth save.
