This is what I noted from yesterday's games.
For Buffalo Casey Lawrence started and gave up four runs in five innings. But his major league experienced relievers were not great. Julian Merryweather allowed a run in two thirds of an inning. Likewise Nate Pearson conceded a run on two hits and finally Rafael Dolis took the loss by giving up a run.
Offensively Danny Jansen hit a three run home run while Otto Lopez and Tyler White had two hits each.
Vinny Capra's grand slam in the third inning gave NH all the runs they needed. Jordan Groshans was out of the lineup for the second day in a row.
The Fisher Cats used five pitchers. Brandon Eisert got the win with two shutdown innings. Eisert was drafted in the 18th round in 2019. The 23 year old lefty has pitched in three levels this year, starting his year in Dunedin. In AA, he has a 3.18 ERA with 14 K's in 11.1 innings and a 1.15 WHIP.
For Vancouver, Alex Nolan was hit around for nine runs in four innings.
Orelvis Martinez continued his revival with two hits. Rafael Lantigua and Mitch Horwitz also had two hits. Horwitz hit his eighth home run.
The Dunedin game was scoreless until the ninth inning. The tie was broken when PK Morris hit a two run home run. Later Mac Mueller singled in the third run. Morris had two hits along with Steward Berroa and Harry Ray.
Nathanael Perez had a strong start, six innings, no runs, four hits, six K's.
Nine runs on seven hits for the FCL Jays. Another of the Jays catching prospects Victor Mesia hit a three run home run in the first inning. Rikelbin De Castro. hit his first home run, another three run shot, in the third inning. De Castro was 2-2 with a walk to bring is BA up to .235, its highest point of the season.
