The FCL Jays were no hit for seven innings, ended the game with two hits and still won. New Hampshire had a nice come from behind win powered by their bullpen. Vancouver and Dunedin lost while Buffalo's game was suspended.

Buffalo 1 Rochester 2 - game suspended in the third inning

New Hampshire 7 Binghamton 3

Spokane 4 Vancouver 6

Tampa 4 Dunedin 1

FCL Phillies 1 FCL Blue Jays 2

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

New Hampshire were down 3-0 headed to the fifth when Demi Orimoloye doubled in two runs. Demi added a third RBI in the eighth with a ground out and scored a run on a two RBI single from Chavez Young. That made the score 7-3 for the Fisher Cats. Rodrigo Vigil had three hits, the only Fisher Cat with a multi hit game.

The bullpen was outstanding in this game. Will McAffer pitched three shutout, no hit innings. Fitz Stadler struck out five in his two shutout innings.

Spokane scored in four innings and on three of the C's four pitchers. Andres Guerra, Luis De Los Santos, Sebastian Espino and DJ Neal had two hits each. De Los Santos hit his seventh home run.

Alejandro Melean was down 3-0 before he recorded an out. He did pitch four innings without further damage. Juan De Paula also threw four innings, he allowed one run.

The Jays trailed 4-0 headed to the bottom of the ninth. They had just two hits to that point. Addison Barger doubled in a run to make it 4-1. The Jays brought the tying run to the plate but it wasn't to be.

The complex Jays were no-hit through seven innings. They did score a run in the seventh thanks to three straight errors. They finally got a hit in the eighth, Amell Brazoban doubled and scored on yet another error. That turned out to be the winning run. The Jays used five pitchers, one of them was Emerson Jimenez who is on a rehab assignment. He should be ready for New Hampshire soon.

Some of the Jays top prospects in the FCL are unable to take that next step forward. Rikelbin De Castro is hitting .083. Estiven Machado has had just one at-bat. Manuel Beltre hasn't played. We don't know what happened in 2020, whether these players got to play anywhere. It might take them some time to catch up.

Three Stars

Third Star - Will McAffer

Second Star - Rodrigo Vigil

First Star - Demi Orimoloye

Groshans in the lineup today. Still no Samad. Martin getting a day off.

Martin is gone to the Futures Game.

Samad Taylor fouled a ball off his foot and seems to be day to day. (courtesy around the nest).

So that means Austin Martin's first half as a pro is 273/394/379 with 24 games at SS, 20 in CF, 1 as a DH. Not bad. A patient hitter obviously with 25 BB, but might be the next Ron Hunt with his 9 HBP in just 198 PA.

SWR with another rough outing tonight. He’s definitely struggling right now. There’s always been a camp of non believers in the prospect community based upon a lack of “stuff” from in person viewing. His stats have always been good to great (age/level adjusted). Ultimately, whether right or not, his success or failure is going to be viewed as an interesting case of traditional scouting versus analytics.

I for one am slightly disappointed with AM's first half, his R/L splits are super scary for someone as hyped as he was for a "polished college hitter".
He hit 262/391/346 with a 30% k vs righties, ugh
