The Blue Jays affiliates were 0-for-3 Wednesday. Dunedin's game against Tampa was postponed due to wet grounds.

Rochester 4 Buffalo 3

A two-out grand slam by Blake Swihart on a 3-2 pitch from Zach Logue in the third inning accounted for all of the runs scored by the Nationals affiliate. Logue got through just three innings, allowing five hits, a hit by pitch and and a walk and striking out three over his 67-pitch outing, 45 for strikes. The good news is Ryan Borucki getting back on the mound as he spun a shutout sixth with a strikeout. Casey Lawrence, Joel Payamps, Dany Jiménez and Travis Bergen also put up bagels in their one inning of work.

Riley Adams drove in all three runs with a two-out single that gave the Herd a brief 2-0 lead along with an RBI groundout. Breyvic Valera doubled and singled and Alejandro Kirk singled and walked. Kevin Smith was 0-for-4.

Binghamton 5 New Hampshire 3

Elvis Luciano served up a two-run home run and gave up four runs over his five innings of work against the Mets affiliate. He had nine baserunners to deal with on six hits and three walks. He struck out three and produced eight outs on the grass. Graham Spraker got around a hit and a walk by striking out the side in a scoreless sixth. That brought down his ERA to 2.25. Sean Rackoski was rocked for a run in the seventh before Kyle Johnston pitched a shutout eighth to lower his ERA to 1.96.

L.J. Talley doubled twice and walked once and Vinny Capra also had two hits, including an RBI single. He just keeps on keeping on with a .379 batting average and 1.065 OPS. Reggie Pruitt doubled and stole a base. Austin Martin and Otto Lopez also had base knocks.

Spokane 3 Vancouver 2

The Canadians fell back to .500 as the Rockies affiliate came back from a 2-0 deficit to pull this one out. Brandon Eisert gave up back-to-back two out doubles to take the loss. Luis Quinones yielded two runs over 4-2/3 innings on five hits and four walks as he ran up his pitch count to 92. He struck out eight and had five outs on the ground. Quinones has a K rate of 15.0 but a BB rate of 9.6. Eisert stranded two runners for Quinones in the fifth. He allowed four hits and a walk and rung up a pair of batters over three innings. Cobi Johnson got the final four outs with just one hit on his pitching line. He struck out one.

Vancouver had just three hits in this one. Tanner Morris and Ryan Gold had RBI singles while Spencer Horwitz had a double and two walks. Rafael Lantigua walked twice and stole a base but was also caught once. Sebastian Espino walked and pilfered a bag.

The Boston hype over Blake Swihart will never not make me giggle.

Kirk (22, AAA): 27pa, 18.5b%/7.4k%, .316bip, 158wrc+

Note that 22 is still young for AAA, and imo is age appropriate for AA.

Free Alejandro Kirk!
Has anyone seen Capra play D?  His usage indicates more of a utility player than a guy who can handle SS - he's played mostly 3B and LF this season, just a few games at short.  Plus, an appearance at catcher on on the mound.

Aside from the Ks, his offensive numbers are great.  He is repeating a level though, at age 25.

Eric Pardinho with a clean inning in his first rehab appearance in the GCL.

Sorry Hypo, I think you will find Pardinho pitched on July 2nd and that game was suspended and completed today.

He might be pitching in game two, have to wait for the boxscore.

Was pardinho just a standard Tommy John? So long now I don't remember.

OF Darlin Guzman, 20, is the PTBNL from Reds to complete the Jan. 22 trade of righty Hector Perez, Blue Jays announce.

Hasn't played this year or last year obviously but he had legit exciting numbers as a 17 and 18yr old in rookie leagues. He's now 20.

Forgot completely about getting ptbnl in Perez trade so even a lottery ticket is good. As Ugly says, good numbers in 2019, so promising. Wonder why he hasn't played this year?

He has played 2 Arizona complex league games per Bbref.
All games prior to this season were in the Dominican.

Guzman does have some raw. Launched one 454 ft in '19, the 7th longest in the Reds minor league system that year.

Guzman is a 6'1" lefty. He's played mostly RF and LF.
Lots of opportunities for him in the Jays system.
