Lansing 10 Dayton 7

The Lugnuts scored an eight-point touchdown in the first and that was just enough for the win. Brock Lundquist hit a grand slam and Chavez Young would cap off the rally with a three-run bomb against the number 2 pick in last year's draft, Hunter Greene. According to Lansing broadcaster Dante De Caria, Greene was throwing around 94-96 MPH. Lundquist drove in five runs on the night with a sac fly. He was also hit by a pitch. Young also reached twice by hearing ball four once. Kevin Vicuna and Christian Williams had two-hit nights with Vicuna just missing out on a home run in the first inning after smacking a ball off the right field corner monster. Samad Taylor had a hit, a walk and three stolen bases. Kacy Clemens drew a pair of walks. Reggie Pruitt had a double.

Maximo Castillo gutted it out through six innings to get the win, giving up four runs on nine hits (including a homer) and a walk. He struck out four. Donnie Sellers surrendered three runs over 2-2/3 innings but struck out seven. Kyle Weatherly stranded two inherited runners and got the final out of the game for the save.

Vladdy Jr. made a baserunning faux pas in the ninth inning of last night's game.  Down by 3 in the ninth with one out, Vladdy was on second and another runner was on first.  He attempted to steal third and was thrown out.  Bad situation for that.

MLB.com listed their top 30 international prospects for July 2nd.

I thought the Jays top signing Orelvis Martinez was regarded as the top guy in this years class, but they have him ranked 4th. They tab him with great tools across the board with 60 power and 55 arm. The Jays aren't expected to sign any of the other top 30 expected bonuses.
