Each team had five hits. Chris Leroux went seven innings with no walks and just three K's. He lowered his ERA to 3.20. Ryan Tepera pitched two perfect innings for the save.
Dalton Pompey had two hits but didn't feature in the scoring. Darrell Ceciliani didn't have a hit but scored the first run. He walked in the fourth inning and later scored when Matt Dominguez singled. Junior Lake homered in the fifth. It was a night for the pitchers.
New Hampshire 4 Trenton 6
Trenton were up 6-0 after two innings. Casey Lawrence was hit around to the tune of seven hits in those two innings including a home run hit by some prospect named Alex Rodriguez. To Lawrence's credit he pitched through six innings and only allowed one hit after the second.
Dwight Smith Jr hit a two run home run in the fourth. The other two runs came in the ninth on a two run, two out error by the Trenton shortstop. Smith was 2-4 and has his average up to .270. Jorge Flores also had two hits. He is hitting .228, low for him.
Lakeland 12 Dunedin 5
Conner Greene wasn't helped by Richard Urena. Urena made two errors, both on the first hitter of an inning. One was in the first inning. Greene got to two outs but then a single and a double scored two unearned runs. Urena made an error in the third, as did Anthony Alford. Those errors led to a grand slam. Greene's line was 3 6 7 0 1 4. The other Conor, Fisk, gave up the other five runs. His were all earned.
Jonathan, JD, Davis led the offense. He had three hits including a double and a triple, scored twice and drove in two. No other hitter had more than one hit, or more than one RBI. Urena scored two runs.
Fort Wayne 2 Lansing 5
Ryan Borucki was the story in this game as he works to reestablish himself after a rocky stay in Dunedin. Borucki pitched six shutout innings with six K's. In the process Borucki lowered his ERA in the league to 2.12, compared to his 14.40 ERA with Dunedin. Patrick Murphy replaced Borucki and pitched the last three innings for the save. Murphy allowed the two runs in the ninth.
Lansing scored two in the third inning. Carl Wise got it started with a double, JC Cardenas singled with Wise moving to third. Andrew Guillotte dropped down a bunt single with Wise scoring. An errant pickoff let the second run score. Max Pentecost followed with a single but the runner was out at home to end the inning. In the seventh Ryan Hissey doubled, Gunnar Heidt added an RBI single. Josj Almonte doubled to make it 4-0 and Wise finished the scoring for the Lugnuts with a sac fly. Lansing had eight hits, one for every starter except Lane Thomas who K'd three times.
