The affiliates took two out of three on Monday. Buffalo had the day off.

Trenton 7 New Hampshire 6

Trenton, NJ
- The Yankees affiliate laid the smack down on Shane Dawson by scoring six runs over 1-2/3 innings. He was roughed up on six hits and three walks while only whiffing two. Daniel Schlereth stranded a runner for Dawson and managed two shutout innings despite three hits and three walks. Chris Smith (0-2) stranded two Schlereth runners and put up zeros in the fourth and fifth but gave up the tie-breaking run in the sixth. Murphy Smith followed with two scoreless frames.

Wilkin Castillo drove home the first two runs of the game with a single in the first. Roemon Fields knocked home two more in the fourth to go along with a Rowdy Tellez RBI groundout. Fields drove in another with a base hit in the sixth to tie the game at 6-6. Fields also walked to get on base three times as did Jon Berti and Matt Dean—they both singled, walked twice and stole a base. Ian Parmley, Christian Lopes and Jorge Flores all had base hits, Tellez drew a walk but Dwight Smith Jr. was 0-for-4.

Dunedin 6 Bradenton 2

Bradenton, FL
- Dunedin saved most of their scoring over the final three innings to beat the Pirates affiliate. An Anthony Alford sacrifice fly opened the scoring in the fourth inning but they took the lead for good in the seventh after Dickie Joe Thon doubled home a run and scored on a Jason Leblebijian base hit. Michael De La Cruz doubled home two more runs in the eighth before Leblebijian homered in the ninth. That dinger capped off a four-hit night for Leblebijian, who also swiped a base. Derrick Loveless had a two-hit night and Thon was on base twice after being hit by a pitch. Alford singled and walked in his four trips to the plate. J.D. Davis singled and Richard Urena walked but Ryan McBroom was 0-for-5 while Emilio Guerrero went 0-for-4. Guerrero did get an assist after an 9-2-5 putout at third base in the eighth.

Kyle Westwood finished an out shy of six innings, giving up a solo home run among eight hits and a walk. His strikeout and groundout totals were three apiece. Alonzo Gonzalez (2-3) gave up two hits but finished off the sixth and seventh without any runs crossing the plate. Tim Mayza was nicked for an unearned run in the eighth but got the final six outs, including two strikeouts, to end the game.

Lansing 3 Great Lakes 0

Midland, MI
- The Lugnuts executed a double steal of home and in the first inning and that more than enough for Jon Harris (3-0, 0.83) and company to shut down the Dodgers affiliate. Harris limited the Loons to two doubles, a single and a walk over seven innings, while punching out 11 to rack up a Game Score of 81. Five of his eight outs in play were on the ground. Ryan Cook was singed for two hits but struck out two in the eighth for the hold. Dusty Isaacs punctuated his eighth save of the year with a called strikeout in a perfect ninth.

Lane Thomas, who stole home in the first, and Andrew Guillotte both had two-hit games. Max Pentecost had a single and a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Connor Panas singled and walked. Juan Kelly was hit by a pitch and stole second in the double steal. Gunnar Heidt singled and Aaron Attaway walked and scored on an error in the sixth. Josh Almonte and Justin Atkinson were a combined 0-for-8. Almonte whiffed three times.

Why show a photo of his father?

Ouch.  I hope he's from the Mossi school when it comes to appearance.  Laugh about it and perform on the field.

Anthony Alford homered tonight.  At least there has been some good news on the farm.
