Buffalo at Lehigh Valley - rained out
Buffalo lost 3-2 on Saturday. They had only two hits, one was a two run home run in the ninth inning off the bat of Andy Burns. Scott Diamond made the start and gave up three runs in six innings.
Buffalo scored a run in the ninth inning on Friday to get a 2-1 win. David Adams doubled in that inning to score Jon Berti. Drew Hutchison pitched six strong innings and out-dueled Mark Appel on the other side.
Binghamton 1 New Hampshire 3
The Fisher Cats scored three in the first inning but they didn't have a hit after Jorge Flores led off the second inning with a single. The pitching held the Mets at bay and delivered the win.
The three run first inning started when Roemen Fields reached on an error. After a groundout Rowdy Tellez singles in Fields. Matt Dean drove in the second run with a double. Jorge Saez finished off the scoring with a single. In total the Fisher Cats had four hits. They added six walks. Luis Santos went six innings, gave up four hits, didn't walk anyone and had seven punch outs. Danny Barnes pitched two perfect innings and Wil Browning a perfect ninth.
The Mets won 5-2 on Saturday. Brady Dragmire gave up three in the eighth and took the loss. Jeremy Gabryszwski had a decent start. KC Hobson had two hits, including a home run.
The Mets also won on Friday. Jason Berken took the loss. The hitters only had two hits, Tellez hit a solo home run for the only score for New Hampshire.
Dunedin - scheduled day off
On Saturday the Jays lost big time. Juliandry Higuera started and gave up seven. Bo Schulz allowed three in less than an inning of relief. Jason Leblebijian homered and Derrick Loveless had two doubles.
The Jays also lost on Friday. Tom Robson gave up four runs although only two were earned. Brad Allen was coming off his no hitter but gave up three on this night. Ryan McBroom hit a home run.
Lansing 5 Wisconsin 3
The Lugnuts pitching has been dominating over the last week and Francisco Rios continued on Sunday. Rios had pitched five shutout innings and the Luggies led 2-0 in the sixth. There was a hiccup in the sixth started by a JC Cardenas error. Rios was tiring in the sixth and two singles led to a run. The second run scored on a steal of home and a two out single gave the Rattlers a 3-2 lead. But Lansing struck back right away in the top of the seventh. The key hit was a two run triple by Jake Anderson. Starlyn Suriel and Dusty Isaacs shut Wisconsin down over the last three innings. Lansing's bullpen has now pitched 32.2 consecutive scoreless innings.
Rios was charged with one earned run in his six innings. He didn't walk anyone and struck out five. His ERA is now 1.48. Lansing had just six hits, Carl Wise had two while Conor Panas drove in the first two runs.
Saturdays game was scoreless until the eleventh. Juan Kelly broke the deadlock and had two hits. Andrew Guillotte and JC Cardenas also had two hits. Jon Harris started and went four. Taylor Saucedo followed and went six, obviously all shutout innings. Lansing lost 2-0 on Friday. Ryan Cook took the loss. The Lugnuts were held to just three hits
