Buffalo
Buffalo split four games in Pawtucket. Friday night was a very cold night for baseball and conditions favoured the pitchers. The teams combined for seven hits. Drew Hutchison pitched well, and took a hard luck loss. He gave up one hit and one run, with nine K's over five innings. On Saturday Buffalo split a doubleheader. The Bisons won game one, 3-1. Domonic Brown had a double and a home run while Casey Kotchman drove in two. Scott Diamond went five innings for the win. Pat Venditte struck out the side while closer David Aardsma pitched a clean seventh. Pawtucket walked off the Bisons in game two, Pay McCoy took the loss. Buffalo had just five hits, Brown drove in two more runs.
On Sunday Buffalo evened their record with a 9-1 cake walk. Jesus Montero was 4-5, two doubles,a home run and 5 RBI. Kotchman and Junior Lake each had two hits. Wade LeBlanc went five innings for the win.
New Hampshire
The Fisher Cats split two games. On Friday Colt Hynes took the loss by allowing a run in the eighth. Jeremy Gabryszwski went 5.2 innings and pitched well. New Hampshire's only run came on a home run by Melky Mesa.
New Hampshire got revenge with an 8-1 win on Sunday. The Fisher Cats used five pitchers, John Anderson started and pitched four innings. John Stilson and Danny Barnes each pitched an inning as they try and come back from injury marred seasons. Dwight Smith had two hits and four RBI. KC Hobson, Jorge Flores and Jorge Saez also had two hits.
Dunedin
On Friday Dunedin won 8-3. Christian Lopes had a triple, a home run, two walks and four RBI. Tom Robson pitched just one, not very good inning. Of note Adonys Cardona pitched an inning and did not shatter. The Jays lost "9 to 5" on Saturday. It was along day for Ryan Borucki who was charged with eight runs in 4.1 innings. JD Davis (not DJ) had a double, a home run and three RBI.
Dunedin lost 7-0 on Sunday with just three hits. Richard Urena did not have one but is still hitting .375. Justin Shafer had a rough start and took the loss. In case you missed it Anthony Alford was spiked on Thursday and was placed on the seven day DL over the weekend.
Lansing
Lansing played once, on Saturday, and lost 5-4. Jonathan Harris could not get out of the first inning, but remember it was very cold. Josh DeGraaf got seven perfect outs. Taylor Saucedo went three and gave up one run. Ryan Cook went two and also gave up a run. Andrew Guillotte drove in three with two hits. Lane Thomas and Juan Kelly also had two hits. Jacob Anderson had a long awaited double.
