The affiliates won three out of four on Monday with all three wins happening in the U.S. New Hampshire had the night off.
Buffalo 12 Indianapolis 3
Indianapolis, IN — The Bisons are back over the .500 mark after hammering the Pirates affiliate in their own backyard by scoring in six different innings. A.J. Jimenez started the on-slaught with a two-run base hit in the second inning. Dalton Pompey tripled home a run and scored on a Jonathan Diaz sacrifice fly in the fourth. Daric Barton and Jimenez plated home two more in the fifth with RBI singles. Diaz singled home another run and Ramon Santiago scored two more with a base knock in the seventh. Alex Hassan had a sac fly in the eighth before Matt Hague and Luke Scott added RBI singles in the ninth. Hague led the 17-hit attack with three hits, including a double. He also walked and stole a base. Barton, Scott and Jimenez all had two hits and a walk apiece while Santiago had two safeties and was hit by a pitch. Pompey drew a pair of walks to reach base three times. Chris Dickerson was 2-for-6 to give every Bison at least one hit.
Randy Wolf (4-1, 1.93) set down the first eight hitters in a row and stranded a triple over the first three frames. The Indians got to Wolf with a run in the fourth but he was given a helping hand by Alex Hassan as he started a 7-6-2 play to cut down a runner at home. Wolf was nicked for an unearned run on a passed ball but he lasted 5-1/3 innings in which he allowed seven hits and a walk. He also started a 1-4-3 triple play by catching a liner on the mound in the fifth. The 38 year-old lefty collected three strikeouts and six groundouts to wind up with a Game Score of 50. Chad Jenkins stranded two of the three runners he inherited from Wolf and pitched 1-2/3 innings of one-hit ball with one strikeout. Rob Rasmussen overcame a hit and a walk in while getting just one out. Luis Perez stranded a runner and got the final five outs. He permitted a run on two hits and a walk but had a strikeout. The run came as a result of a sacrifice fly but Dickerson engineered a 9-3-6 putout at second base to end the game.

Dunedin, FL — A sacrifice fly by Mitch Nay in the eighth inning plated pinch-runner Ian Parmley for the winning run. Parmley came in for L.B. Dantzler after his leadoff single and got to third base on an errant pickoff throw and a wild pitch. Roemon Fields had a 3-for-4 night at the plate that included a triple and he stole his 18th base of the year. Dickie Joe Thon was 2-for-3 with a double and Matt Dean reached base twice with a single and a walk. Christian Lopes had a base hit and a stolen base. Mike Reeves had a base on balls but Dawel Lugo was 0-for-4 and Derrick Loveless went 0-for-3.
Murphy Smith mowed down the Yankees over seven shutout innings by surrendering just two hits and two walks with seven punchouts to give him a Game Score of 78. Of his nine outs in play, seven were on the ground. Smith's earned run average is now down to 3.52. Matthew Smoral (1-0) wound up with the win as he survived a leadoff double and a wild pitch by striking out the side, two of them looking. Chad Girodo started the ninth and retired two of the three hitters, one on a strikeout. However, Justin Shafer was called in after a runner reached base on a Dean error at first base after dropping a throw from third. Shafer got a lineout to short to end the game and earn his second save.

Dayton, OH — The Lugnuts rode a pair of two-run innings in the second and fourth to move 10 games above .500 at 31-21. Gunnar Heidt got Lansing on the board with a sacrifice fly before Chris Carlson provided the next three runs with a pair of singles. D.J. Davis was the other Lugnut with a two-hit game to bring his batting average to .287. Ryan McBroom got board three times via the base on balls. Tim Locastro singled and swiped his 25th base of the year. Richard Urena and Rowdy Tellez were both 0-for-4 while Josh Almonte and Michael De La Cruz went 0-for-3.
Jesus Tinoco (1-3, 3.26) threw five innings against the Reds affiliate, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk. He struck out four to earn a Game Score of 55. Andrew Case walked and hit a batter but put 2-1/3 scoreless innings. Jose Fernandez also pitched shutout relief as he got the final five outs. He allowed just one hit whiffing a pair for his fourth save of the year.

San Pedro de Macoris, DR — The Blue Jays are 0-2 to start the season. They had leads of 4-0 and 5-4 before this game got away from them in extras, thanks in large part to six errors. Pedro Diaz (0-1) pitched a scoreless 10th despite hitting a batter but he got the loss after he was charged with an unearned run over 1-1/3 innings. He gave up a leadoff triple that would score on an error by Francisco Rodriguez at first. That was the second of two errors on the day for Rodriguez. Guadalupe Chavez got the start and pitched 2-1/3 innings, coughing up a four-spot in the third on four hits and a walk. Two of the runs were unearned on an error by Chavez himself and shortstop Jesus Severino. Chavez struck out four, got three ground outs and put up a Game Score of 40. Elio Silva could not strand the two runners he inherited and surrendered a run of his own over 3-2/3 innings. He matched his two hits allowed with two punchouts. Jairo Rosario pitched a no-hitter over three frames, striking out four with just one walk and a hit by pitch.
