Chris Colabello hit a 3 run home run in the first inning off Chad Billingsley and that was enough. Colabello was 3-4. Ezequiel Carrera, Munenori Kawasaki and Andy Wilkins had two hits each. The top 5 in the order on Saturday are all hitting well, four of them over .320. The bottom four hitters average of their BA's is under .100.
It was bullpen day for the pitchers. Rob Rasmussen started and went three. Scott Barnes and Ryan Tepera pitched two perfect innings each. Colt Hynes dodged some trouble put pitched the last two.
Binghamton 5 New Hampshire 10
Twenty hits for the Fisher Cats while Matt Boyd gave up runs. Boyd gave up a run in the first, then nothing until the seventh when he allowed one and Matt West let a third Boyd run score. Boyd only walked one and had "only" six K's. He gave up five hits. Arik Sikula gave up two runs in the ninth and now has an ERA of 9.
KC Hobson went 5-5, all singles, with three RBI's. Jorge Flores was 3-5. Jon Berti, Melky Mesa, Jake Fox, Ryan Schimpf and Jack Murphy each had two hits. Dwight Smith was 1-5.
Brevard County 8 Dunedin 9 - 12 innings
The Jays tied it in the eighth, the Manatees scored two in the eleventh, the Jays tied it up. The Jays finally won it in the twelfth. Jeremy Gabryszwski made his first start of the year and it didn't go well. Alberto Tirado also conceded a couple of runs.
Matt Dean hit two home runs while going 3-6. Jorge Saez went 4-5 including driving in the two tying runs in the eleventh. Dawel Lugo had two doubles. Derrick Loveless drove in the winning run.
Lansing 2 Bowling Green 4 - rain shortened
This was a seven inning game due to rain. Bowling Green hit two home runs off Chase De Jong, who was charged with all four runs. Former outfielder Carlos Ramirez returned to pitch one inning.
Dickie Thon and Rowdy Tellez had two hits each.
