Blue Jays affiliates were 2-2 on Sunday, four days before the 2014 draft begins. Buffalo lost the game, and 3 pitchers to injuries in Ricky Romero, Rob Rasmussen, and Neil Wagner. New Hampshire won in 12 innings, Dunedin lost in 12 innings. Lansing won 7-4, despite being down 4-0 at one point.
Syracuse 8 – Buffalo 5
Sunday was an unfortunate game for Buffalo; they gave up a large lead in the 9th inning leading to a loss. As well, three pitchers got injured in Ricky Romero, Rob Rasmussen, and Neil Wagner.
The only bright spot was Dan Johnson, who hit his team leading 10th HR while driving in 3 runs.
New Hampshire 2 – Altoona 1 (12 Innings)
New Hampshire won a 12 inning game thanks to Melky Mesa who drove home Jonathan Jones in the top of the 12th inning.
The Fisher Cats pitching was solid throughout the game with Austin Bibens-Dirkx starting the game pitching 5 scoreless innings. The rest of the game included appearances from Tyler Ybarra, Arik Sikula, Dustin Antolin, Scott Copleand, and Randy Boone.
Dunedin 3 – Jupiter 4 (12 Innings)
Matt Boyd returned to Dunedin, and was brilliant once again with a line of 5.2IP 4H 1ER 1BB 9SO.
The Dunedin offense managed to scatter 8 hits over 12 innings, but Dalton Pompey had a decent game going 1-4, with a double, walk, and 2 runs scored.
Lansing 7 – Dayton 3
Dawel Lugo continued to be a surprise raising his average to 287, as he was 2-5 with a double, while driving in 3 runs. Derick Loveless was 2-4, with 2 RBI, and Chaz Frank was 2-3, with 3 runs scored.
Alberto Tirado continued to have problems finding the strike zone, as he pitched 4 innings, giving up 6 hits, 4 walks, and 1 strikeout which lead to 3 earned runs.
