Syracuse 2 Buffalo 5
The Bisons scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to turn a 2-1 deficit into a win. In the eighth with the bases loaded Jared Goedert singled in two followed by a Dan Johnson singled that with an error brought in two more. The Bisons had scored their first run in the first inning, Darin Mastroianni doubled to lead off and Ryan Goins followed with a single. Munenori Kawasaki was the only hitter with two hits.
Deck McGuire had a very good start, seven innings, three hits, two runs, no walks and four K's. Neil Wagner got the save.
New Hampshire 4 Altoona 0
PJ Walters has spent some time in the major leagues in each of the last five years so starting him in AA might be over clubbing a little. Walters showed his experience by only allowing one hit over seven innings. He walked three and had ten K's.
Andy Burns hit a solo home run in the second for the winning run. Melky Mesa doubled and scored on an error in the third. Ryan Schimpf followed with an RBI double. Schimpf drove in Mesa for the fourth run in the fifth inning. Mesa, Schimpf, Burns and Kevin Nolan each had two hits.
Dunedin 0 Jupiter 5
A rare loss for Dunedin. Ben White didn't have it on Saturday. In 3.1 innings he was tagged for four runs on eight hits. Dalton Pompey led the offense with two hits out of the five total for the Jays.
Lansing 6 Dayton 7
Chase De Jong recorded five outs while giving up six hits, not a good ratio. He was charged with six runs and Lansing trailed 7-0 after three innings. Roberto Espinosa and especially Adaric Kelly pitched well in relief.
Jason Leblebijian hit a solo home run in the sixth to get the Lugnuts going. In the seventh Mitch Nay doubled in two runs and Santiago Nessy singled Nay home to make it 7-4. In the eighth DJ Davis walked, Derrick Loveless tripled in a run followed by a sac fly from Jorge Saez to make it a one run game. But the tying run never got past first base in the ninth. Saez and Nay had two hits each.
