Buffalo 6 – Toledo 7
Chien-Ming Wang had his first disappointing start of the season for Buffalo. He allowed 9 hits, and 6 runs, of which 4 were earned over 4.1 innings. Kevin Pillar was 3-5, with 2 doubles, pushing his OPS over 1000 for the season with Buffalo. Ryan Goins had a 3 run home run in the 4th inning contributing to the attack.
New Hampshire 2 – Trenton 8
After having a strong performance in his last start, Marcus Walden was unable to replicate that performance this week versus Trenton. Marcus gave up 4 earned runs over 5 innings and was credited with the loss tonight. Chorye Spoone didn’t perform much better and gave up 4 earned runs over the next 2 innings.
New Hampshire managed to score 2 runs in the 7th inning thanks to Tommy Manzella’s double which plated Kevin Nolan and Ryan Schimpf.
Dunedin 6 – Charlotte 9
Jesse Hernandez had his worst start of the year, lasting only two innings, giving up 6 earned runs. Marco Grifantini pitched the next 2.2 innings, and gave up 2 earned runs.
Dunedin’s hitters had a great game scoring 6 runs, but it wasn’t enough tonight. Matt Newman was the player of the game for Dunedin, as he had 3 hits including a double, while scoring 2 runs. Markus Knecht, and Derrick Chung each had a double, and RBI
Lansing 5 – Kane Country 6(10 Innings)
Javier Avendano started today versus a stacked Kane Country lineup that included Albert Almora and Dan Vogelbach. Javier pitched 3.1 innings giving up 7 hits, 4 walks and 5 strikeouts with amounted to 3 earned runs. Ian Kadish was creduited with the loss in the bottom of the 10th inning after giving up the game winning single to Dan Vogelbach.
Lansing had 15 hits tonight, which only amounted to 5 runs. Dalton Pompey got on base 6 times tonight due to 4 hits, 2 walks, and 2 stolen bases scoring 2 runs. Dwight Smight Jr was a HR away from the cycle with 3 RBI. As well Jorge Flores had 2 doubles with an RBI.
Eugene 8 – Vancouver 4
Matt Dermody had another fantastic outing lasting 5 scoreless innings, giving up 4 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts. Timi Brechbueler had another disappointing outing in which he gave up 6 runs, without recording an out.
LB Danzler continued to show why he is the cleanup hitter for Vancouver, as he had 2 hits, including a double. Catcher Michael Reeves from Peterborough, Ontario, had two RBI from a single In the 6th inning.
Bluefield 7 – Bristol 5
DJ Davis continues to hit for Bluefield, as he had 2 hits including his 6th triple of the season, and his 8th stolen base. Mitch Nay had a great game as well, he was 3-5, with a double, and 3 RBI.
On the Mound Zak Wasilewski, Tim Mayza and Yeyfry Del Rosario pitched today for Bluefield, and they combined to give up 6 hits, 5 earned runs, with 5 walks and 11 strikeouts.
