Buffalo 3 – Lehigh Valley 5
Chad Jenkins had his first career AAA start tonight vs Lehigh Valley which is the Phillies AAA affiliate. Chad pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 earned runs, with 6 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts. He was followed by Joel Carreno, Dustin McGowan, and Dave Bush who put together 4 scoreless innings.
Buffalo managed 4 hits and 2 runs tonight versus Lehigh, which was highlighted by a Mauro Gomez hitting his 14th home run of the season.
New Hampshire 2 – Akron 11
Kevin Pillar was 3-4 tonight, and Brad Glen went 2-4 with a home run in which was a quiet night offensively for the Fisher-Cats.
Marcus Walden went 6 innings as the starter giving up 6 hits, 3 earned runs, 4 walks and a strikeout. Reliever Tyson Brummett had an ugly outing going 1.2 innings giving up 8 earned runs with 8 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts.
Charlotte 7 – Dunedin 4
Darren Oliver was given the start for Dunedin in a rehab appearance going 1 inning while striking out 2 batters. Casey Lawrence started the second inning, and was hit hard giving up 10 hits, and 6 earned runs over 3 1/3 innings.
Andy Burns continued to hit for Dunedin, as he was 2-3 tonight with a home run, and 2 walks. Mike Crouse and Chris Schaeffer each had 2 hits including a double.
Lansing 5 – Fort Wayne 8
Dwight Smith, and Emilio Guerrero each continued to be OBP machines each going 1-4 with a walk, and a run helping the top of the Lugnuts lineup. Gustavo Pierre, and Kellen Sweeney each had 2 hits tonight. Santiago Nessy saw his first action in roughly 6 weeks, and was 1 for 2 with a walk in his return.
Javier Avendano had an ok start tonight for the Lugnuts, he gave up 6 hits, and 2 earned runs with 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Efran Nieves had a tough outing in the 7th inning as he gave up 3 runs, only 1 earned, and was given the loss tonight.
DSL Blue Jays 2 - DSL Yankees 4
The Jays put together only 2 runs despite 5 hits and 6 walks. Michael De La Cruz continued to swing the bat well early, having 2 hits including a double, and 2 walks.
Fransicso Diaz, Juliandry Higuera, and Angel Perdomo each pitched 3 innings for the Jays. Diaz gave up 3 earned runs, HIguera gave up one earned run while striking out 6, and Perdomo struck out 4 while giving up 1 earned run.
