As Casey Casem would say, the hits just kept on comin’ as the 51s backed up 1 run pitching with 17 hits, including 3 homers from Moises(the Masher) Sierra (3 for 5, 5 RBIs). Winning pitcher, Bill Murphy (1-2) went 6.0 innings allowing Tuscon’s only run on an solo HR in the 1st inning. Murphy settled down, limiting the Padres to just 2 more hits in his 6.0 IP. The Fisher Cats managed only 5 hits, but they were fortunate to have the score knotted after 8 innings due to Brett Cecil’s hit parade start, allowing 10 hits, 2 earned runs and striking out 5 in 5.2 IP. Aaron Loop came on with 1.1 innings of relief, striking out 3. Ryan Goins (2 for 3, 3B, 2 RBIs), Brian Van Kirk (1 for 4), Brian Bocock (1 for 4) and Brian Jeroloman (1 for 4) provide the light lumber for New Hampshire. Mike McDade suffered a fielding error.

Dunedin v Charlotte (Postponed – Rain)
The D-Jays and Stone Crabs fell victim to Florida’s summer weather pattern as thunderstorms welled up in south central Florida and moved to the Gulf coast in what the locals call a trash moving rain.
In other news, six Dunedin Blue Jays (3 pitchers and 3 position players) were named to the Florida State League north all star squad for the 51st All Star Game scheduled for June 16th in Port Charlotte. Pitchers named were Sean Nolin, Egan Smith and Danny Barnes. Position players named were shortstop Kevin Nolan, first baseman Jon Talley and second baseman Ryan Schimpf. See story (here).
Lansing 0 Bowling Green 1 (Continuation of rain delayed Thursday game)
In a 10 inning continuation of a rain delayed game from Thursday, the Luggies lost a heartbreaker when reliever Brandon Berl (L 2-3) suffered a fielding error by Markus Brisker (3) and a runner made it on base. Berl sealed the deal with a throwing error himself on a sacrifice bunt, allowing the winning run to score for Bowling Green.
Starter Justin Nicolino and Aaron Sanchez pitched a combined total of 8 IP, allowing 6 hits and striking out 5. Lansing bats could only muster 4 hits in the contest, two from Andy Burns – a single and a double. K.C. Hobson and Gustavo Pier each scratched up a single in the Luggies’ 10 scoreless innings.
Lansing 1 Bowling Green 5 (7 inning nightcap)
Lansing continued their paltry hitting in the shortened nightcap behind starter (and finisher) Jessie Hernandez who went the distance allowing 5 runs on 10 hits (including an HR) and striking out 6. Gustavo Piere had a fielding error, his first of the year.
