Let's assume Adam Loewen gets into a game this month.

If Loewen plays, then the Jays will have had four Canadians on their roster at one time or another this year: Loewen, Brett Lawrie, and Mark Teahen, all of whom are active at the moment, plus Scott Richmond, who got into a single game back in the early season.

There has been one other year in which the Jays have had four Canadians on the roster, not necessarily at the same time. Which four?

Go!

I'm going to go with Koskie, Stairs, Richmond, and Pond.

Though I admit I didn't put much thought into this and years 1998 through 2007 seem blurred to me.

Wild guess.  Butler brothers, Boucher and Horseman.

FF: Nope.

MatO: Actually, I don't think any of those four guys were ever on the roster at the same time.

Had to look it up, but to give myself some credit, I thought Spoljaric, Quantrill and Rob Butler had played together which they did in 1999.  The fourth I had no idea of.

Steve SInclair is the fourth, you beat me to the year though.

Can you make a full lineup/roster or Canadians who played for the Jays?

Speaking of Canadians, it seems mildly unjust that Mike Carp beat out Lawrie for August player of the month. Here are their stats for the month:

Carp: 313/353/545 (119 PA)
Lawrie: 326/381/674 (97 PA)

Carp played in a couple of more games, and had more RBI (25 to Lawrie's 18), so we can assume that Buck Martinez would approve. Perhaps this is a harbinger of the AL MVP vote to come.

Spoljaric/Sinclair/Rob Butler/Quantrill in '99 is correct. Butler and Spoljaric were on their second (unsuccessful) go-rounds with the Jays at the time.

You probably can't make a roster of Canada Jays. No catcher, for one thing, and no real shortstop. You'd end up with something like this:

C: Brett Lawrie (drafted as a catcher)
1B: Mark Teahen
2B: Dave McKay
3B: Corey Koskie
SS: Matt Stairs (played some shortstop in the minors)
OF: Rob Butler
OF: Rich Butler
OF: Rob Ducey
DH: Simon Pond
Bench: Paul Hodgson, Adam Loewen (I assume)
SP: Denis Boucher
SP: Scott Richmond
SP: Shawn Hill
RP: Paul Quantrill
RP: Vince Horsman
RP: Steve Sinclair
RP: Paul Spoljaric

I don't think that lineup is going to get you very far. Wouldn't be without its entertainment value, though.

I just checked the Expos list to see if they had a better all-Canuck roster than the Jays did, and they don't. You can't get a lineup out of it; most of the Canadians they've had have been pitchers, a shocking number of whom I have never heard of at all.

I got the list off a Sporcle quiz, and I was able to guess Larry Walker and Matt Stairs no problem, and Boucher and Cormier and Ducey and Claude Raymond, and I even got Shawn Hill and Doug Frobel, but the rest? Pfft. Now that I'm reminded of them, I can summon vague memories of the existences of Mike Johnson and Mike Gardiner, and maybe, maybe even Joe Siddall, but Bill Atkinson? Derek Aucoin? Larry Landreth? Matt Maysey? David Wainhouse? It'd be a cold day in hell before I ever came up with any of those names.

Speaking of Montreal .... 8-P

The thought of watching Stairs play SS made me actually laugh out loud.  For a quick moment, before I caught myself.  Well done.
