LugnutFan if your out there, any idea why Anderson was pulled after 2 innings?  Just pitch count I'm hoping and not another injury.  Any word?

Six Fisher Cats have been named to play in the All-Star game. There are two pitchers, Henderson Alvarez and Joel Carreno.  The four position players are Travis d'Arnaud; Mike McDade; Adeiny Hechavarria; and Moises Sierra.

Anthony Gose is the most notable Fisher Cat omission.

Keith Law has Alvarez at #7 in his "Ten to Watch" prospects in the Futures Game. Monsieur Law likes his changeup and control, while his fastball "has gained a grade in each of the past two seasons."

I sense an opportunity for any poetically creative Bauxite out there who can appropriately rhyme "Litschin' and Loewen" with "Bitchin' and Moanin'" ... 8-)

I know I am jumping the gun but, is comparing S Opitz to T Pastornicky realistic in any way.
They both hit for Avg, play SS and were HS picks. Pastornicky has speed & a strong arm. Neither has much power. Opitz's minor league career is fairly solid so far, so I was just wondering.

Well, Lansing is on the road, so I didn't see the start. i am assuming they are being very careful with Anderson, so its presumably pitch count. There is also a plan for Walden to enter the rotation, so I'm sure they wanted to stretch him out a little as well.

Litschin and Loewen.... Twitchin and Throwin.... ahem pretty bad me thinks. What really caught my eye in the title was "stealin"- when I shoulda been buying. Don't know why songs keep popping up in my head tho :)

Having sent Uvideo to LV and Crawford to the DL today, NH has only 5 relievers on the roster - does this not logically portend a promotion? probably Ethridge (though at 26 he's hardly a prospect) but also possibly Wright (though he pitched tonight so he's not "fresh")? Or even Frank Gailey...

Speaking of Ethridge Justin jackson posted a link to this on Twitter, which gives us a bit of backstory on what he's doing at that level at 26.

maybe he really does have more potential? This would be a perfect time to advance him it seems.
