My prolific news hound pal, Eddie Michels, who reports for a number of news services, says that Jays’ left-hand pitcher threw his first bullpen session since spring training on Friday at the Englebert Minor League Complex in Dunedin. Eddie quotes Jays’ minor league rehab coordinator Rick Langford as saying “It is good to see him back up there. He had no problems.”
Blue Jays placed LHP Jesse Carlson on the 60-day disabled list with a shoulder injury on March 29. Carlson was moved to the 60-day DL to make room for the then newly-acquired Jayson Nix on the 40-man roster. The 30-year-old lefty had been limited to a single appearance in spring training due to soreness in his left bicep muscle.
