Today's POTD subjects are the New Hampshire hitters.  We have video of five of the hitters, Eric Thames, Shawn Bowman, Adam Loewen, David Cooper and Darin Mastroianni.

Getting video of hitters is hard, unless you are taping the whole game.  I was not doing that as I was trying to watch and scout the game so I opted to film one plate appearance and hope for the best.  Sometimes it worked out, Shawn Bowman and David Cooper got hits.  For Adam Loewen and Darin Mastroianni you get to see them fouling off a pitch.  Them's the breaks.

The video link is here.

The videos show:

Eric Thames hitting a fly ball.

Shawn Bowman doubling off the wall.

Adam Loewen fouling off a pitch.

David Cooper hitting a single but getting thrown out at second.

Darin Mastroianni fouling off a pitch.

Thanks, Gerry.  Thames has a funky thing going on pre-delivery.  It appears that he begins with an open stance and pointed front foot and then squares up during the wind up, but it's a bit difficult to tell from the angle.

Thanks very much for sharing these videos.

My skepticism towards Adam Loewen has melted after watching that slapshot of his.  That's a nice swing with plus bat speed going by this small clip.  At first I thought the video feed was playing it too fast.

Great videos Gerry !   Thanks for your efforts . It's nice to be able to put faces, bodies and swings to the names which we keep seeing in the boxscores .  My first impression is that none of them get cheated on their swings.  They're definitely trying to hit the ball hard.  Simplicidly (?), the futures of four of the five will probably depend in the main with their power success.  Less so with Mastroianni which was what surprised me the most.  I would have thought that he would have shown more of a 'singles/square contact controlled within oneself patient approach' instead of the aggressive 'swing from out of your shoes losing one's balance'  that your video recorded.  It's his speed and versatility that should get him to the majors, not his power . I still don't get Dick Scott's (?) comment about Mastroianni's hyper approach ruling out or precluding his playing anywhere in the infield . Granted, that is alot of extrapolation and conjecture from one swing on my part . Anyway that's my 2 cents FWIW...
