The Jays final walk off victory of 2009 is the focus of this holiday edition of the POTD.



Adam Lind belts a home run in the tenth inning off the Mariners Shawn Kelley to give the Jays a 5-4 win over the Mariners at the Rogers Centre September 26th.  To the right of the website address is Lind's batting helmet.

Some of the Jays are looking at Lind while others are focused on his batting helmet which is about to come down.

Lind is about to arrive at home plate while Travis Snider looks to be the most ready to catch Lind's helmet.

Lind begins the leap towards the home dish while his helmet bypasses Snider and continues its decent.

Lind's leap continues while his helmet appears to be out of reach for an unidentified Jay.

Lind appears to step on home plate while his helmet is caught.

Marc Rzepczynski secures Lind's helmet while the celebration at home continues.

Great pics! The second-last one is my favourite: everyone is piling on at home plate, except one guy who appears to be staring at his helmet.

Looks like Barajas is trying to block out the umpire in each frame.

Yes, a very nice sequence - and note that the umpire really is making sure Lind touches the plate.   Has a walk-off ever been negated because the ump thought the runner missed the plate?

In those last couple of shots it really looks like Barajas is playfully trying to get in the way of the umpire's view.
