Two hits, two walks and two RBI from this man helped extend the American League Championship Series to a sixth game tonight (and hopefully a seventh!) in New York.  He's the focus of our POTD.

Torii Hunter set the tone for the Halos with a two-run single in the first against whatshisname and came around to score on a Vladimir Guerrero double to account for three of the four runs scored in the inning.  After the Yankees roared back to take a 6-4 lead in the top of the seventh, Hunter drew a walk in the bottom half of the frame and scored the winning run on a Kendry Morales single.  That capped off a perfect night for Hunter as he went 2-for-2 on the night and also stole a base.  He's now batting .316 in this post-season.

Tonight, it's Game 6 at Yankee Stadium with Joe Saunders (0-0, 2.57) opposing Andy Pettitte (0-0, 4.26) in an all-lefty matchup at 7:57 p.m. ET.  If there's a Game 7, and I sure as hell hope so, that will be played Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. ET.

The winner of this series gets to host the defending National League and World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies for Game 1 of the World Series Wednesday night.

If the Angels are up 6-4 after six innings and Saunders is on 105 pitches, should they just stick Ervin Santana in there and tell him it's his game to close out?

You've got to get Jepsen and Fuentes in there, who are better pitchers than Santana.  It would be approximately Santana in the 7th, Jepsen in the 8th, and Fuentes the 9th, possibly pending where Matsui's spot in the lineup comes up.

Jepsen, okay. Fuentes?! I'd just as soon call for B.J. Ryan. Since July 21, and not including the playoffs: 107 BF, 15 BB, 11 K, 2 HBP, 4 HR, opponents batting .281/.393/.472, a 5.24 ERA. If there are three lefties due up in the bottom of the 9th I'd much rather see Darren Oliver, or Scott Kazmir, or anyone else.

The Angels have Saunders, Weaver, Santana and Kazmir all reasonably well rested. They're facing a very patient team. With the postponement, they have the option of using John Lackey for a few innings in game 7, too. The way the Angels' actual relievers are struggling, they'd be nuts not to give their starters a shot.

Hasn't anyone (AL managers, I'm talking to you!) ever looked at Matsui's actual platoon splits? The man likes LH pitchers. They don't bother him at all. Quite the reverse, in fact.
