OK, it is just 3 games in Baltimore but October baseball will happen in 2009 - unless those games are rained out.

The full schedule can be seen here.

4 home games to start vs Detroit. A 7:15 pm start time for the home opener on Monday April 6th.

Notes

April starts with games against other teams who think of 2008 as a year that was a missed opportunity in Detroit and Cleveland. Whoever misses out on the AL Central title between Minnesota and Chicago will feel that way too. A chance to either fatten up vs teams on the rebound, or a chance to get their butts kicked by teams on the rebound.

May sees the AL East at last, but just 9 times against the contenders with 2 series vs Boston and one vs NY

The last two days of June finally provides the Jays a shot against Tampa Bay. Philly is our designated NL rival again.

July has a 10 game road trip, ASB, then 9 game homestand before going out west just before the trade deadline.

August sees the Yankees, Tampa, and Boston play the Jays a total of 17 times so this is the make it or break it month. The off days should help ensure Halladay gets lots of those key starts.

September/October ends the season with just 2 games that are a pain to get to in Texas at the start of the month, then all eastern time zone. The day off between the games in NY and Tampa will be helpful I'm sure, as will the one off between the Boston and Baltimore series at the end should the Jays be in it at all by then.

Potential good news for the Jays. Ben Sheets left his start today due to injury. Perhaps this will force him to take a one year deal...total speculation of course.

I'm surprised they're playing Cincinnati again at the Dome in 2009.   I thought that since the AL East is playing the NL East next year, they'd get to go to brand new Citi Field to play the Mets as the Mets were here in 2006.  Instead, they have a home and home with Philadelphia.  They will pay their first visit to Nationals Park in Washington (on my birthday, no less!).

I also prefer that the Jays would start the year on the road and then finish up at home but it'll be the reverse again, just like this season.  On the bright side, at least they're home for Canada Day.  Also, I like the fact that Boston's only here for two weekends and the Yankees are here for just one.  It's bad for the team's bottom line, sure, but I like going to games where the Jays have a home field advantage.

Ghostrunner on First has a brilliant rendering of WWJP.

Actually, the Jays started 2008 on the road in New York and finish on the road.
