According to Baseball America's draft database, Mark Sobolewski (4th rounder) has been signed.

So has Danny Farquhar (10th round).

Impressively, they got Sobolewski signed for slot... despite his extra bargaining power as a college sophomore. Many think he has the athleticism and actions to move from third base to shortstop, which would really help the depth in the organization.

I still like the Jays to sign one or two of these players by the Aug. 15 deadline: Justin Dalles, Justin Robinson, Quentin Williams, Dallas Beeler, Kyle Petter. They would have to be over-slot deals to sway them from making their college commitments.

Is it likely that we'd see Gustavo Pierre in the Dominican League this year?

Any update on when we might Sobolewski and Farquhar make their debuts in Auburn (I assume)?

I do hope we get Robinson.  And, geez, hasn't Dalles been drafted about 60 times now?  You'd think he'd sign eventually.  Beeler and Petter would be very interesting too, but I think they're the most unlikely.

Also, any news on Liebel?

Has anyone noticed Jon Jaspe, the hitting machine? He has been moved from c to 3B with emergence of Arencibia and is hitting the cover off the ball at Lansing.

Jaspe hits better off the juice it seems.
