Hey Bauxites! Long time no see, and all those pleasantries. Yeah, I know, there hasn't been a Photo of the Day in forever, and it'll probably be awhile before you see another one of these. And it's a little different from the ones I've put up for you before.

This time around, I've made some iPhone / iPod Touch desktops for the technologically-inclined amongst you. Okay, I'll admit that I made these for myself and then I decided to share.

Here's Aaron Hill.

And here are Roy Halladay and Gregg Zaun.

Enjoy!

I really, really missed these. Good to see you, and terrific work as always! A Background you made after the '05 season has been my wallpaper since.

Hey NFH !!! ... great to "hear from you/ see you" again... we missed the POTD mojo last year... Aaron Hill should be really doubly stoked tonight...

I love Robbie. Good to see him honoured. Same goes for Beeston.

Its early in the season but it looks like the Jays will fine on the hill. However, with the stick, they still look yucky with runners in scoring position.

Doc is looking Gandalfian as he talks to the Hobbit.

Marcum sure didn't look like a fluke or a regress - if anything, he looked better. Then there's Tallet in the 8th, and Accardo looking like a top closer. Man, we threw a lot of good pitching at those guys tonight.

Really, I'd match our #3 guy (McGowan) comfortably against most team's #2 guys, and out #4 guy (Marcum) happily against most #3 guys in this league. And our #5 guy is working on another pitch and getting comfortable - even last year, the math says Litsch beats almost all #4 guys out there.

Bullpen is still strong, and if Tallet really does get a handle on lefties, this bullpen starts looking very strong even without BJ and Janssen. Could even become exceptional depending on League.

Which is good. Dunno about BJ - a drop from 91 to 88 doesn't seem like much, but does everyone remember how much that difference affected Hentgen? I'm hoping it all works out, but until we see him in action we can't depend on that.

Meanwhile, Here's hoping the hitting is adequate. Nice to see Frank with a big one - and a tip of the hat to The Dude in Tampa today, who's hitting well so far and helped them squish the Yanks.

Litch's working on another pitch?

According to fangraphs, he was the only pitcher in the leauge last year that threw five different pitches more than 10% of the time each.  The only person who was close was Shawn Marcum.

What's pitch number six?

A 2-seam sinking fastball, to balance his cutter and keep hitters honest by forcing them to watch both sides of the plate.
