Chip Cannon was recognized as the Most Valuable Player of the 2006 Arizona Fall League today.  Cannon dominated the top 10 offensive lists in the league, and led the Phoenix Desert Dogs to the league championship.  Congratulations to a Box favourite.

I like him. I think he can be a major league regular. A Chris Shelton type, solid but not a superstar. He can't learn LF because of his club feet or something...Thomas blocks him at DH for 2 years at the earliest, and Overbay at 1b for 3 years.

Congrats Chip!

MVP but not in the top 20 prospects.

I hope Chip gets an invite to spring training next year.  If for no other reason than a great AFL performance like that deserves it.  Rios was able to boost his star from a good AFL performance.  I think Chip belongs in AAA or AA next year, but a spring training invite is deserved.
