NL MVP
 Ryan Howard, Pha.
2. Carlos Beltran

NL Cy Young
Too hard to tell at this point. But I have a feeling Carpenter has the ERA, he just needs a couple more wins. Webb, Brad Penny, and Zambrano all could win easily.

NL Rookie of the Year
 Dan Uggla, Fla.
2. Josh Johnson

NL Manager of the Year
1. Joe Girardi, Fla.

2. Willie Randolph, NY
3. Grady Little, LA

I haven't studied this extensively yet, but I'll give it a shot.

 NL MVP
1. Carlos Beltran, NY
2. Albert Pujols, St.L
3. Miguel Cabrera, FLa.

I have Howard 6th...

NL Cy Young
1. Chris Carbenter, St. L

2. Carlos Zambrano, Chi.
3. Brandon Webb, Ari.

NL Rookie of the Year
1. Josh Johnson, Fla.

2. Dan Uggla, Fla.
3. Andre Ethier, LA

NL Manager of the Year
Couldn't care less.

AL MVP
1. Joe Mauer, Min.

2. Derek Jeter, NYY
3. Travis Hafner, Cle.

Very tough to call.  Jeter vs. Mauer is a coin flip, and even Hafner has a case, I think.  Then there's Santana and Halladay, too.  Sizemore, Dye, Wells.  I really don't know at all.

AL Cy Young
1. Johan Santana, Min.

2. Roy Halladay, Tor.
3. Barry Zito, Oak.

Santana vs. Halladay should be a fun race.  Would be more fun if not for Doc's last start (thanks, Alex.)

AL Rookie of the Year
1. Justin Verlander, Det.

2. Jonathan Papelbon, Bos.
3. Francisco Liriano, Min.

The year of the rookie pitcher.  Don't have a problem with Mag's choices.

AL Manager of the Year
Couldn't care less.

Just to expand on my above comment saying that Howard should not be in the discussion for the NL MVP Award, I think it should (and hopefully is) a two-horse race between Beltran and Pujols.

Howard has an advantage over Pujols in plate appearances, but Pujols has a much higher lead in OBP, while they have a similar slugging percentage. Pujols has a signifcant lead over Howard in VORP and in stats like Runs Created. When you also factor in Pujols' superior defence, I don't really see the argument for placing Howard ahead of Pujols. He's outproducing Howard despite fewer at-bats, so unless you actually want to penalize him for his injury, he seems to rank behind Pujols in most measurements.

Why shouldn't he be penalized for his injury? He missed time, therefore was not there to help his team. That said I still vote for Pujols.

I meant penalize as in actively take away part of his achievements. As I said in my post, most single-number counting stats that I would use as research in preparing my ballot have Pujols ahead of Howard. Thus, in fewer at-bats Pujols is still beating Howard. So, unless you want to take away x% of his VORP or WARP3 or RC or whatever, Pujols still wins.

There's a nice piece about Lind's big-league debut over on MLB.com. He seems likable and humble in every interview I've read so far. He seems to have a great attitude, although I have to question his logic of a ground out being "way better" than a hit.
