Don't need to discuss much.  Gustavo Chacin makes his way back to Toronto with a fine outing on a day when the affiliates went 4-1.

Scranton Wilkes-Barre 4 @ Syracuse 2

The Chiefs lost, but there was plenty of good news. Gustavo Chacin's rehab outing was sweet-smelling- 5 innings, 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts. Adam Lind homered and walked twice in 4 plate appearances. He now has 2 homers, 10 walks and 10 strikeouts in 50 triple A plate appearances. Nice. Jamie Vermilyea threw the last 4 innings in his usual style- 2 earned runs, 4 hits, 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. John Hattig doubled and singled and drove in the other Sky Chief run.

Akron 9 @ New Hampshire 10

The Fisher Cats scored 6 runs in the bottom of the eighth capped off by a Chip Cannon grand slam to come from behind in dramatic fashion. There was much to talk about. Dustin Majewski hit his 5th homer in 4 games, and now has an OPS over .900 in New Hampshire. Tony Miller and Ron Davenport eached killed a baserunner (figuratively), and the Cats turned 2 double plays. David Corrente got his first double A start, doubled and walked in 4 plate trips, and threw out speedy Trevor Crowe (who had been 10-0 in previous attempts); Crowe was not amused and returned the favour by throwing out Corrente trying to stretch a double into a triple. Jesse Litsch started and went 4 innings and allowed 5 runs, 4 earned on 7 hits and 1 walk with 4 strikeouts. Danny Hill, Rodney Ormond and Tracy Thorpe followed, each with limited success.

St. Lucie 2 @ Dunedin 6

The D'Jays rode the hot bat of first baseman Josh Kreuzer and the fine pitching of Eric Fowler for an easy victory. Kreuzer had 3 hits including a homer, and scored and drove in 3 runs. Fowler went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits and no walks, while punching out 7 Baby Mets. Robinson Diaz doubled twice and walked in 4 plate trips.

Lansing, scheduled day off

Auburn 2 @ Batavia 1

The Doubledays scored a run in the seventh and another in the eighth to erase a 1-0 deficit. Adam Calderone doubled and scored on a Jonathan Baksh single to tie the game. The following inning, Calderone reached on an error with two outs, stole second and scored the game-winning run on a Luke Hopkins single. Baksh continued his hot streak with 3 hits. Wilfreddy Aguirre threw the first 6 innings, and allowed the Muck Dog run on 3 hits and 4 walks. Seth Overbey earned the win with 3 hitless innings of relief. He walked 2 and struck out 3.

Johnson City 3 @ Pulaski 15

The P'Jays scored in 7 of their 8 innings in a cakewalk. Catcher Jonathan Jaspe hit a three-run homer, doubled in another and walked in 3 plate trips. Young Yohermyn Chavez doubled thrice and walked among his 5 appearances, while Victor Santana and Heliezer Aguilar each chipped in with 3 hits. Travis Snider doubled and walked in 4 PAs. Francisco Mateo started and went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and 1 walk with 3 strikeouts. Pulaski turned 3 double plays with Raul Barron and Luis Fernandez as the combo. Even Leeance Soto got into the act with a base knock, a walk and by starting a 5-4-3.

3 stars!

So many good choices that there could have been eight, instead of three.
3rd star- Eric Fowler
2nd star-Jonathan Jaspe
