Francisco Rosario was called up from Syracuse today, and is apparently scheduled to start tomorrow. Jason Phillips was designated for assignment to make room for Rosario on the 25 man roster. Thanks to Dan Gordon for the tip.
According to the probable pitchers listed on bluejays.com Rosario is starting on Saturday. I have to wonder if the Jays aren't doing serious damage to their pitchers by shuttling them up and down and moving them between the bullpen and rotation. It would be nice to see one of them come up when they are ready and be given time to develop and grow into their roles.
Hello everyone,
I made it to the 1st game of the double-header and took a snapshot of Rosario in street clothes.
You can view the rest of the photographs w/ more to be posted tomorrow, so please check back. I'll also post a few video clips from Game 1.

I believe that if the Jays were thinking only of 2007 they would leave McGowan in to start, but they still are thinking 2006 so they are looking for a starter to help them now. McGowan and Burnett have similar issues, lack of control and over-reliance on the fastball. Gibbons doesn't appear to have a lot of faith in Marcum so if McGowan finds his control I wouldn't be surprised to see McGowan back in the rotation before the end of the season.
