With all this hoopla about writing in Alex Rios on the All-Star ballot, we're neglecting another player on the Jays who is quietly putting together an even better campaign than his All-Star-worthy 2005: Shea Hillenbrand.  He hasn't been hit by all that many pitches, and yet his on base percentage is a magnificent .373, a good 23 points higher than the Dudek Noteworthy Contribution Line.

So vote Hillenbrand!  And in the meantime, here's a photograph of him jogging across the plate after hitting a home run on Sunday against the Tigers:

NFH,

Peterson for Hillenbrand looks like quite a steal these days. Its funny to read that NFH challenge thread linked above and see how Dudek and others were do down on the trade. How is the Hillenbrand jersey treating you these days?

And on a related note ...did you ever get those baseball cards i sent after losing the Huckaby sucks NFH challenge?

I can't take total credit, JJ -- Craig Burley made a request for some Shea lovin'.

Jdog, I love re-reading that thread from time to time, while wearing the jersey and fondly gazing at my collection of your baseball cards.  Unfortunately, when I moved the cards had to be packed away into a special box that lives in the basement that contains all those things I have no space for but do not wish to part with.

I remember opening the package in front of my wife -- between the two of us, she's the one in the family who collected baseball cards as a kid -- and at first she was all excited, "ooh baseball cards", until she saw who was on them.  I believe her exact words were "I have never seen that many terrible cards at the same time".

We had a special giggle at one of them -- I forget the player, but he had a familiar name, I think the same last name as a much better ballplayer -- who appeared to be in a really contorted position, almost to the point of pain.  Who was that one?

That sounds so dirty and so wrong, NFH.  Besides, you know I'm saving myself for B.J. Ryan.

WILTON GUERRERO!  YES!

Craig... you're married.  You can't have babies with BJ Ryan.
