Yeah, I know it's not his start today.  So what?  I like this picture of Gustavo Chacin, and I'm sharing it with you today.

NfH, you posted a picture of Catalanotto doing his one-eyed squint like popeye in a game report/TDIB/series report lately, but I can't seem to find it at this point, and you've been careful only to show him not-squinting in the PotD.  Could we/I get a squinty pic, either inline here, as a link to your site, or as a PotD at some point soon?

I was trying to show that picture to my girlfriend, and it didn't go so well...

By the way, that Cat picture is from last year -- this thread is a pretty good visual display of the difference between the equipment I was using last year and what I'm using this year.

It's certainly obvious to the eye, and much better.  How much storage do you take to games, and what fraction of the pictures taken do you keep long-term?

Thanks for the pic, NfH.  I'll remember to save it this time.

I take two one gigabyte cards and generally fill them, which is 600-700 photographs.  Of those, 200-300 will be good, useable images.  My best game has had 350 that were "keepers", though many are variations on the same photograph in an attempt to get it just right -- I probably have 20 or so images of Chacin almost identical to the above, trying to get the mean stare and glove in the air at the same time.  I've just bought another card, a high speed 2Gb fella, which will allow me to be a little less selective in shooting.  I don't imagine I'll be getting too many more keepers per game this way, but maybe a few.

I actually keep everything, though I don't back up the rejects as religiously.  You never know when someone's going to want a picture of Nick Punto with his eyes closed, after all.

Ye gads,  that's a lot of storage for all the 'old' stuff.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I'm looking at buying another drive already, and I just bought one six months ago.

But then again, I have a basement full of boxes of negatives.
