One day, three games, three big early leads. One big lead shrunk down, one lead kept growing, the last one just sorta ... stayed put. NYY/LAAA ... home field advantage swings back to the Bronx Bombers.
Jake Peavy has fractured ribs and will miss the rest of the season.
Shoudn't matter, they'll be out by the time he would pitch anyways.
I missed the Cards/Pads game, the Red Sox/White Sox game sure was dull, and with the Yanks up 4 early, it has the makings of a somewhat boring first day of the playoffs. Hopefully LAA can make it a game tonight.
Shulman/Campbell are on the radio tonight doing the Yankees/Angels game (ESPN radiocast carried on AM1200 here in Ottawa). This is my favorite announcing team.
With the off days, a healthy Peavy would have pitched Game 3 on three days rest.
Hilarious comment by Joe Buck. He and McCarver were talking about Donovan McNabb, and McCarver mentioned he has heard great things but has never met McNabb. Buck followed with "You'd love McNabb...although you wouldn't love him as much as you love Jeter." Classic!
Doc, the Cards-Pads was dull and I turned it off around the fifth when it was 8-0 Cards. Turned it back on just in time for the ninth, which was one hell of a rally. I mean, when you're down by six going into the ninth inning, do you ever expect to just hit and hit and hit and hit and bring the go-ahead run to the plate?
I turned off Sox-Sox before it really got out of hand, apparently -- it was only 8-2 when I went to the in-laws for dinner.
