Gregg Zaun had a magnificent night last night: another spectacular blocked plate (I love it when the baserunner smacks into Gregg and then bounces backwards and ends up sitting) and a two-run homer. Here he is:

A small personal plug: I have two photographic exhibitions, one that's already open and another that opens next weekend:

Photographs of Prague are currently up at the Ten Restaurant and Wine Bar in Port Credit, and my Trinidad & Tobago show will be at Burke's Bookstore in Toronto as part of the St. Clair Artwalk, starting next Friday. Click on either for more details and a photograph from each.

Zaun's about to get very very angry.

Good eye, VBF. Is that Batista covering behind him?

And is that a Tim Horton's coffee cup in front of the D-Ray dugout?

Batista it is. Is he the only Jay wearing Puma shoes?

It looks like just a plain ol' Gatorade cup. But it could be filled with Tim Horton's coffee.

Very cool. Congrats.

What's the story with the immigation stamp on the T&T picture?

I added the stamp (scanned from my passport) small and in the corner of the white border of the finished prints as an identifier, rather than titling them. I thought it looked really neat, so I made it bigger and stuck it onto the images for the promo cards. Gives a sense of travel, anyways.

Here's a link to the other promo card, a photograph of a giant leatherback turtle who has just laid her eggs on the beach. She's about seven feet long and you can see what appears to be a very old shark bite in her shell.

Aaron, Congratulations on your exhibitions ... also keep up your good work with daily images ... you have a great eye ... the Jays should talk to you about baseball cards... 2 photographers that you should check out if you haven't seen them already ... Charles W Conlon sp? (Baseball's Golden Age") and Josef Sudek (photographs of Prague)...also may I submit a topic for future discussion (if not already covered) for a slow day in winter ... favourite Baseball card images

There was a Conlon exhibit in Toronto recently, but I managed to miss it. Too bad, I really wanted to see it.

Can you recommend a good collection of Conlon images in a book?

I love looking at old baseball cards, and I agree that showcasing old cards would be a great diversion. Don't know if we'd get into any kind of rights difficulties in reproducing them, but I suppose I could write to a few baseball card companies and ask 'em.
