Do you think we'll ever see pitchers one day wearing "plate armour" on their shin, like Eric Hinske does when he bats?
I can't see it bearing much of a burden on their mechanics and feel, yet it would protect them the few times there's a comeback such as the Roy Halladay one.

Hmm, I guess it would make sense for pitchers to do that. But then again, it could bring up the same issue hockey players face when it comes to wearing visors. Also, if they're going to wear protection for their shins, why stop there.. why not wear protective headgear or something in the way of protecting their upper body. My guess is its unlikely, but its something that should be considered.
