Columbus 8 Syracuse 6 - 10 innings
Through the first five innings Brandon League pitched well, he had allowed one run on five hits and a walk. Just like Francisco Rosario the day before, the wheels came off in the sixth. League had two on with two out in the inning when a single and a throwing error from the outfield scored two and then a misplayed fly ball and another outfield throwing error scored two more and the Chiefs were down 5-0, as the Friday the thirteenth horror show hit Syracuse. League pitched OK, he only walked one and had five K's, but he is still catching too much of the plate as the nine hits prove.
The Chiefs started to claw their way back in the sixth with two runs primarily due to doubles by Eric Crozier and Aaron Hill. Julius Matos hit a solo home run in the seventh but the Chiefs came into the bottom of the ninth down 6-3. Facing Yankee prospect Scott Proctor, John Ford Griffin walked with one out. Matos doubled to put two on and Justin Singleton singled to score both. Thursday's hero Joe Depastino doubled to tie the game.
In the tenth Mike Nannini walked two and Jesse Carlson walked another to load the bases. Bubba Crosby then singled both home with two outs and that was enough for Columbus. Matos was the hitting star with three of the Chiefs nine hits. This one goes down as another game that the Chiefs should have won, poor defense and relief pitching cost them the game.

Cameron Reimers had his second excellent start in a row as the Cats win a close one. Reimers allowed two unearned runs in six innings on six hits. Steve Andrade and Jordan DeJong each pitched a perfect inning of relief. Lee Gronkiewicz pitched the ninth and gave up a lead off walk in a one run game! But he got himself out of it to preserve the win.
New Hampshire scored a run in the fourth on a bases loaded walk, which followed a walk, a single and an error. The Cats scored twice in the sixth, Miguel Negron and Ron Acuna singled followed by a triple by Raul Tablado. The Cats outhit Altoona 11-6, Tablado, Maikel Jova and Eric Kratz had two hits each. Ex Jay Tom evens plays for Altoona, he is hitting .262.
Palm Beach 4 Dunedin 0
It's hard to win when you can only record four hits, as Dunedin did last night. Two of the hits were by John Hattig. Adam Lind went 0-4 to drop his average to .292. Meanwhile Kurt Isenberg retired the first thirteen hitters in a row, but in the fifth inning three infield singles and a walk scored two for Palm Beach. Isenberg gave up a bunt hit in the sixth to complete his night, six innings pitched four hits and two runs. All four of his hits allowed were infield hits. Tracey Thorpe allowed the other two Palm Beach runs in two innings.
The mystery of who Casey Janssen will replace in the Dunedin rotation continues. Yesterday was Janssen's scheduled day to pitch but Isenberg started and Davis Romero is scheduled tonight. That suggests that Michael MacDonald might be the one to get bumped.
Lansing 0 Burlington 3
If it was hard for Dunedin to win with four hits, it was harder for the Lugnuts to win with two hits. Ryan Klosterman and Eric Nielsen had the two hits. Luis Cota, the Burlington starter, is KC's #7 prospect and showed why last night. Danny Core newly arrived from Dunedin, started in Casey Janssen's spot and pitched three scoreless innings. Mark Sopko replaced Core add allowed three runs in 2.2 shaky innings.
