Game 1 - Syracuse 2 Rochester 4

The Chiefs scored first when Chad Mottola and John- Ford Griffin doubled back to back to lead off the second inning off Boof Bonser. Griffin was stranded at second. Chad Gaudin started game one and allowed a Todd Dunwoody home run in the bottom of the second. Griffin hit another double in the fourth to score Aaron Hill who had been hit by a pitch. Rochester answered with the tying run in the fifth on a pair of singles and a wild pitch.

Rochester won the game in the bottom of the sixth. Gaudin allowed the dreaded lead off walk to Terry Tiffee. A bunt moved the runner to second and rather than pitch again to Todd Dunwoody the Chiefs walked him to put two runners on with one out. Justin Miller replaced Gaudin and got the second out on a fly ball and thought he had the third out on a ground ball to Bryant Nelson, but Nelson booted it and the go ahead run scored. A single then scored an insurance run. The Chiefs had five hits in the game, 2 by Griffin; Aaron Hill had a double in addition to being hit.

Game 2 - Syracuse 1 Rochester 9

Francisco Rosario started the second game and his day was done in the third inning. The first five hitters in the second inning recorded hits off Rosario including two home runs. After Rosario walked two hitters in the third he was pulled. Rosario's line was 2.2 innings, four runs, on six hits and four walks. Chris Baker fanned the flames allowing five runs in the fourth and it was a 9-1 game.

Aaron Hill was the lone bright spot, he singled in the first and homered in the third, and even reached on a strikeout. Syracuse had six hits in the game, Hill was the only hitter with two, and the only hitter with an extra base hit.

New Hampshire 1 New Britain 5

Vince Perkins had his worst start of the year as he allowed three runs in five innings on 8 hits and 2 walks, with only one strikeout. Vince also had two wild pitches. Bubbie Buzachero gave up a walk and a hit to start the sixth and then he was pulled for John Ogiltree. Ogiltree conceded a double, scoring both runs and making it a 5-1 game. The Fisher Cats had scored their run in the fourth on back to back singles by Maikel Jova and Ron Davenport, followed by a fly ball and a ground out.

New Hampshire had four hits, none for extra bases, Davenport had two.

Dunedin 6 Tampa 8

Twenty seven hits in this game, 13 for Dunedin. Tampa scored four off Michael MacDonald and led 4-0 after five. Mac Donald was done after five innings having allowed nine hits and a walk in his five innings. Dunedin scored a run on two hits in the sixth and tied the game with three runs in the seventh. Scott Dragicevich and Jason Waugh singled; Manny Mayorson doubled to drive in one, and Jayce Tingler singled to drive in two.

But the lead off hitter in the bottom of the seventh homered off Tracey Thorpe. After another double off Thorpe, Danny Core came on to surrender another home run and make it a 7-4 game. Tampa added another in the eighth and Dunedin scored twice in the ninth.

Dragicevich, Waugh, Mayorson and Tingler had two hits each. Adam Lind went 1-3 with a walk to keep his average at .359.

Lansing 11 Dayton 4

Lansing had the bats working big time in this game scoring six runs in the first two innings. Ryan Klosterman started the game with a double and Chip Cannon added his sixth home run in the first. In the second three hits and two walks led to the three runs. Kyle Yates had his best start of the year, throwing six shutout innings with seven K's. Three hits and three walks were the only blemishes on his record.

Eric Nielsen hit his fourth home run while Yuber Rodriguez hit his first. Juan Peralta had three hits, Cannon and Ontario native David Corrente had two each.

Syracuse record is 10-13. The Chiefs are tied for fifth and last place, four and a half games back of Ottawa.

The Fisher Cats are 11-11, tied for second place, four games behind Portland.

Dunedin's record is 13-10 which puts them in third place, three games behind Lakeland.

The Lugnuts are 14-9, the only Jays team in first place, by one half game.
