Jim Turner of the fine website Toronto Baseball Guys is putting on a get-together at SkyDome along with the York Baseball Association. Take it away, Jim!
Greetings Bauxites,
When I'm not dissecting baseball online, I'm a coach and convenor with the York Baseball Association, a very fine youth league in the city's west end. Each year, we have Blue Jays ticket sale, and as a reward, our Rep teams get two hours of precious field time at the SkyDome. It's quite something to see an 11-year-old hit a gapper and then realize how far apart those bases are.
This year, our players were a little optimistic about their sales numbers, and have returned a number of tickets. I thought this might be a great opportunity to get some die hard Jays fans together, and the Batters Box guys have graciously agreed to grant me this forum.
Here's the deal: I have a pile of tickets for the Friday, August 27th, 7:05 game against the New York Yankees. We get to sell $37.00 tickets for $20. It's all the fun and discount frivolity of ticket scalping, but it's completely legal!
The following seats are currently available, and more may become available:
Section 128, Row 24, Seats 6-10
Section 128, Row 28, Seats 103-107
Section 128, Row 29, Seats 105-110
Section 128, Row 30, Seats 5-9
Section 129, Row 41, seats 101-107
Section 129, Row 42, Seat 3 (for you lone gunman types)
The crowd should be a good one with the Bombers in town, so if you'd like to support your local youth league, and have a good seat from which to give Derek Jeter what I like to call "The Verbal Huckaby," please post here and email me at jim@torontobaseballguys.com. Please specify how many and which tickets you'd like. Hopefully, we can get a good number of Bauxites out to the game.
For game night, I will be stationed outside of gate 11 by 6:00 to hand off tickets. I'll wear my Las Vegas 51s hat and have a sign reading YBA/Batter's Box - or something to the effect - in the interests of user friendliness.
Thanks,
Jim - TBG, and yba.ca
Thanks Jim! Hopefully a number of us can get out and enjoy some discounted seats and good old-fashioned (gentle) rowdyism. -Craig
