Three Red Sox homeruns were too much for the Jays to overcome in a 4-1 loss.

* Fordin Notes - A look at last night's pitching matchup, Hudson's defensive reputation is growing, and the forgotten man.

* Sunday Preview - Batista vs. Schilling in a battle of former teammates. Hopefully there will be a more consistent strike zone today.

* Rich Griffin - Francona has Martinez on shorter leash.

* Geoff Baker - Doc rattled again as Bosox down Jays.

* Mike Ganter - Jays watch.

From the Boston perspective:

* Outstanding In His Field - A look at Hudson's defense from Boston.

*Joe Burris, Boston Globe Halladay Was Hung Up.

* Bob Hohler - Martinez An Answer Machine.

So is it a requirement for the Jays to swing at the first pitch when Foulke is on the mound?

I remember worrying at this time last year that Halladay was giving up too many homeruns.

Seems to maybe take him a few starts to start getting the ball consistently down. The worst thing he could do right now would be to panic and start tinkering.

If you're near Toronto, it should be on 610, just a tad up the dial. I think Tom & Jerry & Mike get pushed to that station whenever the Raps play.

I just watched the tape of last night's SNL with Janet Jackson. The opening skit was hilarious. Anyone else see it?

Dunno if this was posted yet, but there's (for the first time in a long time) a great article from Marty York on Mike Bordick and all the attention he has been getting this off-season (COMN).

Among other things:

- at least 8 teams have inquired about him, including the Jays, Yanks and Red Sox, and he was offered the starting job at 2nd by the As. He was offered as much as $3 million to come out of retirement and play.

- according to Bordick's agent, "that, if he would go back to play, it would be with Toronto and no other team. He had a terrific time in Toronto last year and he has a great relationship with J.P."

It's a good read, and I for one would love to see him back here in some sort of bench coaching role in the near future, or even at one of the farm teams as their head coach.

Great article on Bordick. I agree that I'd love to see him back on the field, if not in uniform in a coaching capacity. He reminds me a lot of Dan Plesac in that they are both useful veterans who are well-liked in the clubhouse and willing to mentor young players. I don't know if Bordick has Plesac's sense of humour, though.

44 pitches for Schilling through 3 innings.

There's a separate thread for today's game. Better late than never, as they say. Whoever they are.
