Buffalo Bisons get the minor league season started this afternoon. New Hampshire, Vancouver and Dunedin start a week from tonight. The Florida Complex League starts in May.

The Buffalo roster has a lot of young hitters who have the potential to help the major league club. Addison Barger, Orelvis Martinez and Rainer Nunez will be in the infield. Eventually Josh Kasevich and Leo Jimenez will join them. Jon Clase, Joey Loperfido and Steward Berroa will be in the outfield. All of these guys have something to prove, but will they?

Pitchers to watch include Jake Bloss, Lazaro Estrada and Eric Pardinho. Adam Macko will be another when he comes off the IL.

While we watch to see who develops and who has good seasons, we must also remember that many of these players will be used as injury replacements this season. While there are several options to replace most of the on field positions, there are fewer options on the pitching side. It is important that a starting pitcher or two step up to be on deck in case of injury,

Here's hoping for a fun and productive season.
