The Buffalo Bisons lost 5-2 to the Omaha Storm Chasers on Wednesday night.
Omaha led 3-0 after their half of the first thanks to Tyler Gentry’s two-run home run.
The Bisons countered with two of their own in the fourth when Luis De Los Santos’ two-run homer scored Rafael Lantigua but the Storm Chasers restored their three-run lead again in the top of the fifth.
The Bisons have not announced a starter in Thursday’s matchup against the Storm Chasers. Game time is 6:35 PM EDT.
New Hampshire Fisher CatsThe New Hampshire Fisher Cats were blanked 1-0 on Wednesday by the Hartford Yard Goats.
A Trevor Boone double scored Braxton Fulford in the top of the fifth for Hartford and that is all the Yard Goats would need to win this one as starter Blake Adams would allow only two hits across five innings.
The Fisher Cats Michael Dominguez allowed three hits and one earned run across five innings of work for the loss.
The Fisher Cats starter for Thursday is Lazaro Estrada. Game time is 6:35PM ET.
Vancouver CanadiansThe Vancouver Canadian lost 7-6 Wednesday night at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium in a game in which they led 5-2 after six innings.
Canadians starter Juaron Watts-Brown was tagged for two solo home runs in the top of the first by the Everett Aquasox but settled down after throwing six innings of six-hit ball with a walk and seven strikeouts.
It was Vancouver’s relievers who let them down though Bo Bonds allowed a three run homer to Gabriel Moncada to make it 6-5 for Everett in the eight. Chay Yeager had allowed a run in the seventh to make it 5-3.
Jackson Hornung had given the Canadians a 5-2 lead on a bases-loaded double in the fifth that scored Jacob Sharp, Alex Stone, and Bryce Arnold.
The Canadians did make it 7-6 with their last at-bat in the bottom of the ninth but the Frogs managed to hang on to win this one and tie this series at one game a piece.
Tonight’s game goes at 7:05pm at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium. Connor O’Halloran (2-6, 7.69 ERA) is on the mound for the C’s.
Dunedin Blue JaysThe Dunedin Blue Jays trailed 2-0 in this one after two innings but scored three in the fifth and seventh as well as single runs in the third, fourth, and eight as well as to win 9-5 against Clearwater Threshers on Wednesday.
Arjun Nimmala’s three run shot in the top of the fifth made it 5-2 Dunedin but the Threshers would claw back to make it 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth.
In the seventh inning, the Blue Jays took an 8-5 lead when Nick Mitchell’s single scored Braden Barry. This was part of the three run seventh where Edward Duran also singled and scored Arjun Nimmala.
Thursday’s game starts at 6:30 PM ET with Dunedin sending Daniel Guerra to the mound with no Clearwater starter being announced.
