The Buffalo Bisons could only muster a Luis De Los Santos solo homer in a 3-1 loss to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Wednesday.
The Bisons were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left four on base.
The Rail Riders tied it in the fourth when Jasson Domínguez’s home run made it 1-1. They used single runs in the 5th and 8th to get the win.
The Bisons’ Trenton Wallace (0-0 6.14ERA) will be on the bump in Thursday’s matchup against the Rail Riders Edgar Barclay (5-9 6.29 ERA) Game time is 6:35PM EDT.
New Hampshire Fisher CatsThe New Hampshire Fisher Cats got a run in the top of the first but the Reading Fightin Phils still managed to win this game 5-4.
A four run third inning capped off by a Trevor Schwecke double that scored Carson Taylor and Otto Kemp proved to be the difference in this one.
The Fisher Cats would tie it at 4 with a three run sixth but couldn’t solve Reading’s pitching the rest of the way. The Cats were also 2-12 with Runners in scoring position and left seven on base.
The Fisher Cats starter for Thursday is TBD. Game time is 6:35PM ET.
Vancouver CanadiansThe Vancouver Canadian enter their most critical six games of this season with a chance to catch the Spokane Chiefs for top spot in the second half of Northwest League play.
The Canadians trailed the Chiefs by two games heading into Wednesday night’s game with a chance to close that gap.
It was the Spokane Chiefs however who would win this game 3-0.
The Chief’s Dyan Jorge broke the 0-0 deadlock in the fifth when his sacrifice fly scored GJ Hill.
GJ Hill would hit a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh inning to make it 2-0 and another run would be added in the bottom of the eight to make it 3-0.
Thursday’s game sees Mississauga, ON native Connor O’Halloran on the mound for the C’s. Game time is 6:35pm.
Dunedin Blue JaysThe Dunedin Blue Jays trailed 4-0 in this one after five innings but scored three in the sixth and four in the seventh to win 7-4 against The Bradenton Marauders Wednesday.
Solo home runs by Arjun Nimmala and Aaron Parker made it 4-2 Bradenton in the sixth with Dunedin adding another before the end of that inning to make it 4-3.
Nimmala would smash an RBI double in the seventh to score Braden Barry and J.R. Freethy to make it 5-4 for the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays would add two more in this inning and shut down the Mauraders.
Thursday’s game starts at 6:30 PM ET with Dunedin sending Daniel Guerra to the mound against the Maurader’s Khristian Curtis.
